Students from Grades X to XII at Techno India Group Public School (TIGPS), Ariadaha gained invaluable insights into the critical realm of cyber safety during an engaging and informative workshop conducted by the Belghoria Police Station. The initiative was organized under the guidance of the Barrackpore Police Commissionerate, demonstrating a proactive approach towards educating young digital citizens.


The workshop was expertly led by a team of dedicated officers from the Belghoria Police Station, including Inspector Subhrajit Majumder (IC Belghoria), Sub Inspector Sukanta Das, Sub Inspector Prokash Dhara, Sub Inspector Arnab Mistry, and Sub Inspector Monisha Biswas.
Mr. Subhrajit Majumder, the Inspector-in-Charge of Belghoria Police Station and the chief guest for the event, proved to be an inspiring figure for the students. Drawing upon his extensive 26 years of experience, he effectively illustrated the paramount importance of cybersecurity in today’s increasingly interconnected world through compelling real-life examples.



The comprehensive workshop addressed a range of vital topics designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the online landscape safely. Key areas covered included:
- Understanding online safety and the various ways students utilize the internet.
- Highlighting the risks and serious consequences associated with cyberbullying and the sharing of inappropriate content.
- Providing detailed explanations of different types of cybercrime, such as phishing, identity theft, sextortion, and impersonation.
- Raising awareness about prevalent gaming frauds and how to identify potential warning signs.
- Offering practical guidance through “dos and don’ts,” clarifying common myths, and analyzing real-world case studies.
- Equipping students with preventive measures and information about available helpline resources.
