In a proud moment for the Techno India Group, Dr. Syed Shafique Uddin, Registrar of Techno Global University, was honoured by, Higher Education Minister of Madhya Pradesh, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to promoting higher education in rural areas and for elevating the university to a national level of excellence.
Adding another feather to this achievement, Dr. Uddin was invited by Zee National News Channel to present the remarkable journey of Techno Global University and highlight its impact on transforming the educational landscape of rural Madhya Pradesh.
During the interview, Dr. Uddin shared the inspiring story behind the university’s establishment in Sigonj, a small town in Vidisha district, where access to higher education has traditionally been limited. Speaking about the institution’s purpose, he emphasized that Techno Global University was founded with a clear mission – to bring quality education to students who otherwise might never have the opportunity to pursue higher studies.
“There are many good institutions and universities, but Techno Global University works where access to higher education is scarce. We are committed to serving students who have talent and aspirations but lack resources and guidance,” said Dr. Uddin during the Zee interview.
The university has emerged as a beacon of hope for students from economically disadvantaged and rural backgrounds. Many families in the region are unable to send their children to larger cities for higher studies due to financial constraints. Recognizing this challenge, Techno Global University has focused on making education both accessible and affordable.
Spread across a sprawling campus that includes nearly 50 acres of agricultural land, the university has developed a strong foundation in agricultural education. Today, around 2,000 students are pursuing agriculture-related studies, making it one of the institution’s flagship disciplines.
“We charge only about 60 percent of what many institutions would typically charge. Our goal is not just to educate but to ensure that students from rural communities can actually afford quality higher education,” Dr. Uddin noted.
The university has also invested significantly in infrastructure and innovation. Twelve new laboratories have been established to strengthen agricultural research and practical learning. Alongside conventional farming techniques, students are being introduced to sustainable agricultural practices with a strong emphasis on reducing excessive pesticide use and encouraging organic farming.
“We are trying to promote organic farming and educate students about sustainable agricultural practices while also preparing them for the realities of the agricultural sector,” he explained.
Beyond academics, Techno Global University is dedicated to enhancing employability and entrepreneurship among its students. Through collaborations with industry partners, placement preparation programmes, and recruitment drives, students are given opportunities to develop professional skills and secure meaningful careers. The institution also encourages entrepreneurial ventures connected to the agricultural ecosystem, helping students become job creators as well as job seekers.
