The School of Allied Health Sciences at Techno India University reached a significant milestone with the successful organization of its first-ever White Coat Ceremony, a momentous occasion that formally welcomed students into the noble profession of healthcare. The ceremony brought together students from Physiotherapy, Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), Medical Radiology & Imaging Technology (BMRIT), and related allied health disciplines, marking the beginning of their journey toward clinical excellence and patient care.
Recognized worldwide as a rite of passage for healthcare professionals, the White Coat Ceremony symbolizes much more than the presentation of a white coat. It represents a commitment to professionalism, ethical responsibility, compassion, and lifelong service to humanity. For the students, it was a proud moment that signified their transition from classroom learning to hands-on clinical training, diagnostic practice, and patient-centered healthcare services
The ceremony was graced by Prof. Manoshi Roy Chowdhury, Co-Chancellor of Techno India University, who administered the White Coat Oath to the students. Addressing the gathering, she encouraged the young healthcare professionals to embrace their responsibilities with compassion, integrity, and dedication. Her words served as a powerful reminder that healthcare is not merely a profession but a commitment to serving humanity.
The occasion was further enriched by the presence of distinguished members of the university leadership, including Prof. (Dr.) Saikat Maitra, Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Atanu Kumar Raha, Emeritus Professor and Director, Prof. (Dr.) Sujay Biswas, Registrar, Prof. Dr. Bhaswati Mitra, Controller of Examinations, and Prof. (Dr.) Beduin Mahanti, Dean, Faculty of Health Sciences. Their presence reflected the university’s collective support and encouragement for the students embarking on this important journey.

The event was organized under the guidance of Dr. Amartya Sinha, Assistant Director of the School of Allied Health Sciences. Departmental Heads and faculty members also joined the celebration, offering their blessings and best wishes to the students as they prepared to step into clinical and healthcare environments.
The first-ever White Coat Ceremony was organized for students of Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT), Master of Physiotherapy (MPT), Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT), Master of Medical Laboratory Technology (MMLT), and Bachelor of Medical Radiology & Imaging Technology (BMRIT). Bringing together learners from diverse Allied Health Sciences disciplines, the ceremony served as a unifying moment that celebrated their shared commitment to healthcare, scientific excellence, and patient-centered service.
For many students, receiving the white coat was a moment filled with pride, excitement, and a deep sense of purpose. It symbolized their readiness to enter laboratories, OPDs, diagnostic centres, and healthcare settings where knowledge, skill, and empathy come together to make a difference in people’s lives.

As one of the first initiatives of its kind in West Bengal and the first-ever White Coat Ceremony for Allied Health Sciences students at Techno India University, the event stands as a landmark achievement. More importantly, it celebrates the beginning of a lifelong journey dedicated to healthcare, service, and excellence.
With their white coats proudly worn and their oath firmly taken, the students now move forward with renewed confidence and a shared commitment to making meaningful contributions to the healthcare sector. The ceremony not only marked the start of their professional journey but also reinforced the values of ethics, compassion, and patient-centered care that will guide them throughout their careers.
