Wavicle 5.0, an amazing event that combined science, technology, and education, was held by Techno Main Salt Lake. Wavicle, which is organised by the Departments of Electronics & Instrumentation and Electronics & Computer Science, has grown into a unique festival where professionals and students gather to share ideas and gain knowledge. This year, the latest advancements in the fields of quantum computing and nanometrology—which measures at the minuscule, nanoscale level—were honoured.
Prominent academics and specialists, including Prof. Joyanta Kumar Roy, a consultant in industrial and lab automation, and a prominent researcher and educationist. Dr. Khondekar Lutful Hassan, assistant professor at Aliah University. Prof. Bapita Roy, Head of the Department of Electronics and Computer Science at GNIT also attended, along with Dr. Saikat Majumder, Prof. Subhajit Bhowmik, and the entire faculty of the Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering department of Techno Main Salt Lake, attended the event’s grand opening ceremony. Their presence motivated the attendees and gave the event a greater meaning.

One of the most thrilling aspects of Wavicle 5.0 was the “Ideathon”, a competition where 28 student groups presented their innovative projects. Among the most interesting concepts were innovative robotic applications, a smart energy meter for better energy consumption, and Agri-Vision to improve agriculture.
Vital Watch, the idea that won, provided a novel means for physicians to remotely monitor their patients’ fluid intake. The experiment used a specific circuit to handle the data, an amplifier to enhance the signal, and a load cell to quantify changes. In order to make possible remote monitoring, this data was afterwards transmitted to an ESP8266 module for internet access. This brilliant concept demonstrated how technology may enhance patient safety and healthcare.
Wavicle 5.0, which was funded by the institution’s IET Chapter and SPIE Techno India Student Chapter, was a huge success. It showed the students’ inventiveness and teamwork, proving Techno Main Salt Lake’s commitment to encouraging learning and innovation.
