Kolkata | July 30, 2026: Techno India Group & Techno India University presents the Pranab Mukherjee Scholarship Examination (PMSE) 2026, an online scholarship examination designed to support students of Classes X, XI and XII, including Madhyamik, Higher Secondary and equivalent-level students. The initiative aims to help students strengthen their academic preparation, become familiar with online MCQ-based examinations and explore opportunities for higher education, recognition and future career growth.
PMSE-2026 has been introduced with a strong focus on students’ academic and professional development. By participating in the examination, students will be able to assess their knowledge, identify areas for improvement and gain valuable experience in an online examination environment. The initiative seeks to support better performance in the Secondary and Higher Secondary examinations while helping students build confidence for future academic challenges.
For Madhyamik and equivalent students, the examination will comprise 100 multiple-choice questions carrying a total of 100 marks. The paper will include English for 25 marks, Mathematics for 25 marks, and General Knowledge and Current Affairs for 50 marks. The questions will be based on the Class IX standard, and students will be given one hour to complete the online examination.
For Higher Secondary and equivalent students, the examination will also consist of 100 MCQs carrying a total of 100 marks. The paper will cover English, Mathematics, Logical Reasoning, and General Knowledge and Current Affairs, with questions based on the Class X standard. The examination will be conducted online, and the duration will be one hour.
The examination fee is ₹100 per student for both Madhyamik and Higher Secondary participants. Schools are requested to appoint a dedicated teacher to coordinate the registration process and support students in completing their online applications. The designated teacher may collect the examination fee and register students on their behalf. To make the process more convenient, schools may also prepare the student list in the prescribed Excel sheet, submit the details for registration and collect the fees from students later.
In recognition of schools that actively encourage student participation, a special honour will be presented to the Headmaster or Headmistress of any school registering 200 or more students collectively from Classes X, XI and XII. This recognition aims to acknowledge school leaders who contribute to strengthening academic preparedness and expanding access to valuable learning opportunities.
PMSE-2026 will also provide outstanding students with opportunities for prestigious awards and recognition. Based on the examination results, Techno India University will award the ‘Jewel of Jewels Chancellor’s Medal’, along with laptops, certificates, and various state-level, district-level and special prizes. Students from the Arts, Science and Commerce streams may also receive assured admission opportunities in selected colleges under the Techno India Group & Techno India University and across various programmes at Techno India University. Successful and outstanding students will further be supported through opportunities related to future employment or income generation.
The online application process began on July 14, 2026, and the last date for submitting applications is November 28, 2026. The online examination will be held on December 5, 2026, with the Madhyamik examination scheduled from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM and the Higher Secondary examination scheduled from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The online results are also scheduled to be announced on December 5, 2026.
