TIU Student Shines at IIT Kharagpur’s ENIGMA Competition

In a remarkable display of intellect, analytical ability, and presence of mind, Aakash Howlader, a B.Tech student from the BCS-3B department of Techno India University, secured the 2nd position at ENIGMA, a prestigious competition आयोजित during the 31st edition of Composit at IIT Kharagpur.

The competition witnessed an overwhelming response, with over 1000 participants registering from across the country. ENIGMA, known for its challenging and dynamic format, tested participants across multiple domains including science, general knowledge, analytical reasoning, and real-world awareness.

The journey began with an online quiz round focused on Mathematics and Science, from which only about 50 participants were shortlisted to advance to the offline rounds at IIT Kharagpur. This itself marked a significant achievement, reflecting the competitive spirit and academic strength of the participants.

The offline rounds were designed to push boundaries and evaluate not just knowledge, but interpretation and application. The first round was a written test, where participants had to answer 20 questions in just 20 minutes, covering diverse topics such as environment, space, and general awareness. From here, only 15 participants moved ahead.

The second round introduced a creative and analytical twist. Participants were shown four images and asked to interpret them from multiple perspectives including history, politics, companies, and global affairs. This round emphasized critical thinking and the ability to connect ideas beyond textbooks, narrowing the competition to 10 participants.

In the third round, contestants faced a logo identification challenge, where they not only had to recognize well-known logos but also explain their functions and relevance. This stage tested both awareness and clarity of thought, leading to the selection of the final six participants.

The competition culminated in an intense buzzer round, where speed and accuracy were crucial. With a system of positive and negative marking, participants had to carefully balance risk and confidence while identifying answers based on given hints.

Amidst such rigorous competition, Aakash Howlader’s achievement of securing the 2nd position stands as a testament to his dedication, knowledge, and composure under pressure. His success not only highlights his individual excellence but also reflects the academic environment and encouragement fostered at Techno India University.

This accomplishment brings pride to the institution and serves as an inspiration for fellow students to participate in national-level platforms, challenge themselves, and strive for excellence beyond the classroom.

The Techno India family extends its heartfelt congratulations to Aakash Howlader for this outstanding achievement. His success is a moment of pride for the entire institution, and we wish him continued excellence in all his future endeavors.
