DEC Celebrates Saraswati Puja 2026 with Devotion and Academic Spirit

Dumka Engineering College, part of the Techno India Group, celebrated Saraswati Puja 2026 on 23 January 2026 with devotion and academic reverence. The campus witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and staff, creating an atmosphere of learning, creativity, and cultural harmony.

More than 1,500 students actively participated in the celebration through a range of academic and creative competitions including Poster Presentation, Model Presentation, Rangoli, Painting, Cultural Singing and Dancing, and Speech Competitions. These activities highlighted the institution’s approach to integrating technical intellect with creativity and cultural values, essential for holistic engineering education.

Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Ganesh Shankar emphasized the importance of Saraswati Puja in the life of an engineer. He stated that continuous learning, innovation, and wisdom form the foundation of engineering excellence, and the blessings of Goddess Saraswati inspire students to pursue academic excellence with discipline, ethics, and humility while contributing to nation-building.

Vice-Principal Dr. Ratan Kumar Bose remarked that Saraswati Puja symbolizes the harmony between knowledge and character. He highlighted that engineering education goes beyond technical skills to include moral values, discipline, and social responsibility, and appreciated the enthusiastic participation of students in strengthening creativity, confidence, and teamwork.

Sharing an innovation-driven perspective, Institution Innovation Council (IIC) President Prof. Pankaj Sarkar emphasized that knowledge, creativity, and innovation are the pillars of technological advancement. He stated that Saraswati Puja motivates students to apply their academic learning to solve real-world problems and contribute meaningfully to national development. Participation in such events, he added, enhances technical skills, communication abilities, leadership qualities, and a sense of social responsibility.

The Saraswati Puja 2026 celebration at Dumka Engineering College stood as a perfect example of the integration of education, technology, culture, and values. The event reinforced the importance of nurturing engineers who are not only technically competent but also ethically grounded and socially responsible.
