DEC Strengthens Innovation Ecosystem with 12 Projects Selected at IIC Regional Meets

Dumka Engineering College, a part of Techno India Group, has recorded another landmark achievement in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship with the selection of six projects under the YUKTI Innovation Challenge (YIC) 2025 and six projects under the AICTE Productization Fellowship (APF) 2025 for the second round of evaluation at the prestigious IIC Regional Meet 2025 held in Kolkata and Patna.

A total of 10 YIC 2025 projects and 11 APF 2025 projects were initially nominated from Dumka Engineering College by the Institution Innovation Council (IIC) through the support of its external Innovation Ambassadors. After rigorous screening and assessment, six projects from each category successfully qualified for the next stage, reflecting the increasing innovative potential of the students.

The IIC Regional Meet – Kolkata took place on 25 November 2025 at JIS University, Kolkata, where selected teams received exposure to expert panels, innovation mentors, and peer innovators from across the region. Following this, the IIC Regional Meet – Patna was organized on 02 December 2025 at Chandragupt Institute of Management, Patna, bringing together a vibrant community of innovators, faculty coordinators, and IIC representatives.

Several faculty coordinators, faculty innovation ambassadors, and IIC members from Dumka Engineering College were present at both regional meets, providing guidance and encouragement to participating project teams throughout the programme.

Speaking on this significant accomplishment, Principal Dr. Ganesh Shankar expressed immense satisfaction, stating, “The selection of twelve projects in two major national-level innovation programmes signifies the rising innovative spirit of our students. It is a proud moment for the institute and a clear indicator of the academic and creative growth happening at Dumka Engineering College.”

Vice-Principal Dr. Ratan Kumar Bose highlighted the impact of such platforms, remarking, “These selections demonstrate the technical readiness and innovative mindset of our students. Participation in YIC and APF competitions helps them transform their classroom knowledge into impactful real-world solutions.”

Institution Innovation Council President, Prof. Pankaj Sarkar, emphasized the broader institutional benefit, stating, “The continuous success of our students in various innovation challenges is significantly strengthening the startup and innovation ecosystem of Dumka Engineering College. Our IIC framework is committed to nurturing promising ideas and guiding them towards successful implementation.”
