Campus Flea 6.0 Celebrates Durga Puja with Student Entrepreneurs 

Techno India University, l hosted Campus Flea 6.0 – Durga Puja Edition on September 23–24, bringing together student entrepreneurs, festive shopping and creative ventures. With the theme of celebrating Puja through shopping, food, vintage finds and quirky products, the two-day event created a lively platform for students to showcase their brands and connect with the campus community.

Durga Puja is a feeling that is hard to put into words. It lives in new clothes, pandal hopping, adda with friends, favourite food, spontaneous shopping and those little moments that make Puja feel special. Bringing that spirit to campus, Campus Flea 6.0 turned Techno India University into a lively space where celebration met creativity, and student ideas found a place to shine.

Following the spirit of Campus Flea 5.0 – Rakhi Edition, the sixth edition continued to provide student entrepreneurs with an opportunity to turn their ideas into practical business experiences. The Durga Puja edition featured a diverse range of stalls offering fashion, jewellery, handmade products, food, art, accessories and festive collections.

The event brought together student-led brands, each reflecting a different creative idea and entrepreneurial journey. From traditional jewellery and handmade products to festive clothing, baked goods and customised gifts, the stalls added a vibrant Puja atmosphere to the campus.

Paper Poetry, by Adwitiyaa Ghosh, 1st Year, BBA, TIU, brought a creative art-based collection to the flea. She shared, “We have created Puja-themed painted greeting cards and turned them into art that people can give to their loved ones. We prepared this stall to introduce our work and also offer canvas and watercolour artworks. Thank you.”

Miyava, a fashion brand by Tanisha Gupta, 4th Year, BBA, TIU, showcased clothing and festive fashion pieces. Speaking about her experience, she shared, “I have an e-commerce platform with an Instagram page, website and Meesho presence. I got the opportunity to showcase my brand on campus, and I’m loving the crowd and the response towards my products. I’m selling halter-neck fitted shirts, two-set shirts, waistcoat shirts and many more. The Durga Puja vibe is very special, as everyone is excited to shop for new clothes.” 

Pastel Crumbs, by Mezhuse Kire, 4th Year, Architecture, TIU, brought cupcakes, chocolates and brownies to the flea. She shared, “I am selling cupcakes, chocolates, brownies and many more. I would like to thank Techno for giving me the opportunity to grow my small business. Durga Puja is the best time to celebrate in Kolkata and it gives me an opportunity to showcase my talents and sell my products.”

Vibgyor, by Rupangi Sarkar, 2nd Year, M.Tech CSE, TIU, featured handmade products. She shared, “I make handmade products. Durga Puja has always been my favourite festival as I am Bengali. Since childhood, Puja has meant fun, food, dressing up in new clothes and celebrating.”

Oboshor, by Anjistha Mallik, 2nd Year, B.Tech ECE, TIU, was inspired by her mother’s handmade creations and her desire to turn them into a small business. She shared, “Oboshor is a brand inspired by the handmade products my mother used to make and gift to her friends. I started this plan to slowly transform these products into a small business, while also helping and engaging my mother. It is a surreal experience to present her products at this exhibition. A big thank you to Techno India and the wonderful audience for supporting us. It means the world to both of us.”

The Roopkotha Jewellery, by Sumouli Mandal, 2nd Year, B.Tech CSE Core, TIU, showcased jewellery as part of the Puja Edit. She shared, “I am here with my brand The Roopkotha Jewellery for the Pujo Edit Campus Flea 6.0, and I am very happy to showcase my jewellery to all my lovely customers. I am also looking forward to the next Campus Flea. I would like to thank Techno India University and the Biryani Canteen for giving me this opportunity to showcase my collections.”

Jonaki, by Rituparna and Prerana, 2nd Year, CSE AI, TIU, presented traditional jewellery inspired by the culture and spirit of West Bengal. They shared, “We are presenting traditional jewellery related to Durga Pujo that represents the culture and spirit of West Bengal. We set up our stall from 23rd to 24th September and received good sales and a great response from students. We are happy to showcase our products at Techno India University.”

Handcrafted by Swarnali, by Swarnali Saha, 1st Year, B.Tech CSE, TIU, featured handmade accessories and candles. She shared, “This is my first time setting up a stall at Campus Flea 6.0, the Puja Edit. I am selling accessories and handmade candles that can be useful during Durga Puja. We received a very good response on Day 1 and are hoping for an even better result today.”

Moner Pochondo, by Pragnya Bhattacharya, 2nd Year, BBA, TIU, offered a variety of jewellery collections. She shared, “I have everything from anti-tarnish and silver replica jewellery to the latest trending collections in the market. I have many exclusive items for Puja. Thanks to TIU for the opportunity.”

Bong Crafter, by Agnimitra Deb, Kavya Singh and Angsula Adhikari, 1st Year, BBA, TIU, showcased beaded jewellery with customisation options. Agnimitra Deb shared, “We make all sorts of beaded jewellery, and we are getting a great response from people. Customers can customise pieces for their family, friends and relatives for Puja. We have many affordable options, starting from Rs. 19 up to Rs. 59.”

Sadhana, by Neha Paul and Priyangshu Rakshit, B.Des (Fashion, Interior), TIU, showcased resin, gothic and beaded jewellery. Neha Paul shared, “I am the founder of Sadhana, where we make resin, gothic and beaded jewellery. Our best sellers are phone charms and bracelets. We have participated in a few stalls before and received good responses. We are thankful to Techno India University and Biryani Canteen for giving us these opportunities.”

Nafisa Creations, by Nafisa Sultana, B.Sc IT (CTIS), 7th Semester, TIU, also participated in the flea with its unique designs. She shared, “Thank you for giving me this opportunity. My brand name is Nafisa Creations, where we offer unique designs. Please visit my stall, Nafisa Creations. Thank you so much.”

The diverse participation at Campus Flea 6.0 highlighted the growing spirit of student entrepreneurship at Techno India University. The event provided students with an opportunity to present their products, interact directly with customers and understand the practical aspects of running a small business. It also allowed young entrepreneurs to gain confidence while exploring their ideas in a real-world setting.

With Durga Puja-themed shopping, handmade creations, fashion, jewellery, food and creative products, the two-day flea brought a festive energy to the campus. The variety of stalls reflected the creativity and interests of students, while the festive setting encouraged the campus community to explore and support their ventures.

By providing students with a platform to showcase their ideas, connect with customers and gain hands-on experience, Campus Flea 6.0 – Durga Puja Edition continued to encourage creativity, confidence and experiential learning. The event also strengthened the university’s efforts to give aspiring student entrepreneurs opportunities to turn their creative ideas into meaningful ventures.
