Dumka Engineering College Empowers Future Engineers Through Mini Project Exhibition 2026

The Department of Civil Engineering at Dumka Engineering College reaffirmed its commitment to experiential learning by organising Mini Project Exhibition 2026, providing a platform for sixth-semester students to showcase their technical expertise, creativity, and problem-solving abilities through 13 innovative engineering projects.

Mini Project Exhibition 2026,highlighted the department’s commitment to experiential learning by encouraging students to develop practical solutions to real-world engineering challenges. The exhibition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and industry experts, creating an engaging platform for knowledge exchange and innovation. The showcased projects reflected practical applications of civil engineering concepts, with a strong emphasis on sustainability, smart infrastructure, and industry-oriented solutions.

The event was organised under the guidance of Dr. Ganesh Shankar, Principal, Dr. Ratan Kumar Bose, Vice Principal, and Dr. Avijit Bardhan, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering. The projects were academically and technically mentored by Prof. Sourav Kumar, while the exhibition was efficiently coordinated by Prof. Bhajan Kumar Mandal and Mr. Tanmay Biswas.

The exhibition was graced by Mr. Sunil Kumar Tudu, Executive Engineer, Water Resources Department, Dumka, as the Chief Guest. Guests of Honour included Mr. Parshuram Bhandari, Sub-Divisional Officer, Irrigation Department; Mr. Ravi Kumar, Assistant Engineer, Water Resources Department; and representatives from Larsen & Toubro (L&T) – Mr. Vikas Vats, Project Manager, Mr. K. Vishnu, Head – Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, and Mr. Ashley P. Ninam, Planning In-Charge.

The projects addressed a range of contemporary engineering and sustainability challenges, including Treatment of STP Effluent by Hydroponic System, Permeable Concrete Road Models, Earthquake-Resistant Buildings, Smart Flood Control Systems, Smart Traffic Management Systems, Plastic Waste Utilisation in Flexible Pavements, Smart Floating Buildings, Pile Foundation Models, Seismic-Resistant Water Tanks, Highway Intersection Models, Sewage Treatment Plants, Rooftop Cooling Systems, and the Development of Self-Healing Pervious PCC Pavement.

As they visited each exhibit, the distinguished guests commended the students for their technical knowledge, innovative thinking, and practical approach to solving engineering problems. They noted that initiatives like these play an important role in preparing aspiring engineers for the demands of the industry while encouraging research, innovation, and technical excellence.

The exhibition concluded with the presentation of certificates and awards to the best-performing participants by the Chief Guest and Guests of Honour, recognising their innovation, technical excellence, and dedication. Congratulating all the participants for their efforts, the event reaffirmed Dumka Engineering College’s commitment to nurturing skilled, innovative, and future-ready engineers through hands-on learning and industry-oriented education.
