Techno India University Hosts India’s First Dify Studio Meetup

Techno India University hosted India’s first university collaboration with Dify Studio on 24 February, transforming the campus into a dynamic hub of innovation, artificial intelligence learning, and forward-thinking dialogue. The Dify Studio India – University Connect Meetup sparked engaging discussions on Agentic AI, cybersecurity, and real-world AI workflows, giving students a powerful platform for hands-on exploration, industry exposure, and collaborative idea exchange. The vibrant atmosphere reflected a strong vision for future-ready, technology-driven education.

At the heart of the meetup was Dify, an emerging AI application development platform that simplifies how artificial intelligence solutions are built and deployed. Designed to bridge the gap between concept and execution, Dify enables developers to create Agentic AI workflows, integrate large language models, and transition seamlessly from prototype to production. Its accessibility empowers students, startups, and experienced developers alike to build scalable, intelligent, and secure applications — proving that innovation is no longer limited to large tech ecosystems..

The event featured a distinguished lineup of speakers who guided students through multiple dimensions of the evolving AI landscape. Jing Yan led the Welcome – Introduction to Dify session; Md Nasirul Haque, Technical Architect at Tata Consultancy Services and organizer of GD Cloud School, delivered an engaging talk on Introduction to Agentic AI; cybersecurity expert Tuhin Roychowdhury presented Cyber Nation: A 360° Security Overview; and Kazi Haque conducted the hands-on workshop on Production-Ready Workflows with Dify — collectively creating a learning environment that balanced technical depth with real-world application.

The meetup began with a warm welcome by Jing Yan, who introduced participants to Dify’s vision and its growing relevance within the global AI ecosystem. Her session provided a clear overview of how AI applications can be designed, deployed, and scaled, laying a strong foundation for the technical discussions that followed.

Expanding on emerging AI paradigms, Md Nasirul Haque simplified the concept of Agentic AI through relatable real-life analogies. Asking students about their daily commute, he explained, “Reaching the destination is the goal, but the path involves multiple decisions….” Drawing a parallel with intelligent systems, he added that Agentic AI goes beyond generating responses; it observes, decides, acts, and adapts…” to achieve a defined objective, describing it as goal-driven intelligence in action.

Bringing energy and execution into the room, Kazi Haque led an immersive hands-on session where participants built production-ready workflows using Dify. With laptops open and ideas taking shape in real time, students moved beyond theory to create deployable AI applications. Capturing the spirit of practical learning, he reminded participants, “Learning is good, but building is better…”

Cybersecurity took center stage during Tuhin Roychowdhurys session, where he emphasized the importance of ethical responsibility in an AI-driven world. Encouraging students to use their skills wisely, he stated, “If you can break a system, you must also know how to protect it….” and advised, “Choose to be an ethical hacker, not a black hat hacker… your skills should defend, not destroy…..”

Adding to the excitement, the speakers announced that the top 10 projects developed during the meetup would receive exclusive mentorship and advanced workshop opportunities, along with possibilities for global exposure and collaboration within international tech ecosystems. What began as a one-day university meetup quickly evolved into a launchpad for larger aspirations.

As the session concluded, students received goodies and exclusive Dify stickers – small yet meaningful tokens symbolizing a transformative learning experience. Conversations, networking, and collaborative discussions continued long after the formal close, reflecting the event’s lasting impact.

By hosting Kolkata’s first Dify Studio India – University Connect Meetup, Techno India University reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing innovation, ethical responsibility, and hands-on excellence – a space where students don’t just learn about the future, they build it.
