Demonstrating their commitment to community well-being, the students of Techno India Group Public School (TIGPS), Garia recently spearheaded a impactful Road Safety Awareness Programme. Conducted throughout April, the initiative aimed to instill a strong sense of road safety and promote responsible attitudes among both students and parents.
The campaign was a collaborative effort led by the enthusiastic members of the Rotary Interact Club of TIGPS Garia, supported by fellow students and their dedicated Teacher-In-Charge. Recognizing the critical need to reduce road accidents, the young advocates took to the streets surrounding their school after regular hours to deliver a powerful message.
Lining the road leading to TIGPS Garia, students held aloft thoughtfully crafted placards displaying compelling road safety slogans such as ‘Always Wear a Helmet’, ‘Drive Slow’, and ‘Drive Safe’. These visual reminders effectively captured the attention of parents arriving to pick up their children and other commuters passing by.
Going beyond static displays, the students actively engaged with parents and drivers, initiating conversations about the potentially fatal consequences of neglecting safety precautions. They passionately explained the importance of wearing helmets while riding two-wheelers, emphasizing that this vital safety measure is crucial regardless of the road – be it a busy highway or even within the school zone.
The active participation of the students in educating pedestrians was equally noteworthy. They diligently conveyed the significance of obeying traffic signals, consistently wearing helmets and seatbelts, and maintaining general road discipline. Their proactive approach in fostering a safe and respectful environment for all commuters and encouraging responsible behaviour on the road was a key highlight of the campaign.
