The much-awaited two-day Annual Sports Competition at Chaibasa Engineering College, part of the Techno India Group, began with great excitement on February 13, 2025. The event was held at the ground adjacent to the Jhinkpani Police Station and featured a variety of sports, including the newly introduced Taekwondo competition, which was a highlight of the program. The college organised this competition for the first time, showcasing its dedication to fostering a well-rounded student experience through sports and fitness activities.
The grand inauguration ceremony was graced by several distinguished guests, adding prestige to the event. Dr. S.C. Das, Principal of Tata College, attended as the Chief Guest. Shri Pankaj Gupta, the officiating Principal of Jawahar Navodaya Jhinkpani, was the Guest of Honour, while Shri Ritesh Singh, the in-charge officer of Jhinkpani Police Station, attended as a Special Guest. Shri Anurag Sharma was also present to support the celebration. Professor D. Raha, Principal of Chaibasa Engineering College, welcomed the guests warmly by presenting them with a plant and a sports badge, symbolizing growth, sportsmanship, and the spirit of healthy competition.



The speeches during the ceremony were inspiring and motivating. Dr. S.C. Das spoke to the students about the importance of sports in shaping mental strength and character, emphasizing how physical sports can build resilience and discipline. He praised the college management and students for organizing such a well-planned event. Professor D. Raha also addressed the gathering and expressed his excitement over the college’s first-ever annual sports event. He mentioned that 350 students had enthusiastically participated in various sports activities, including cricket, volleyball, carrom, table tennis, badminton, relay races, and track events such as 100m, 200m, and 400m races. He was particularly pleased to announce the addition of Taekwondo, a testament to the institution’s commitment to diversifying its sports portfolio.
Students’ passion and compassion were amazing and the event had a fantastic atmosphere. Every game, from a fierce table tennis match to an exciting relay sprint, showed their enthusiasm and commitment. Particularly popular was the Taekwondo competition, when students have their martial arts expertise and discipline. The pupils’ dedication to adopting a competitive and healthy lifestyle was obvious in the intensity and spirit on the pitch.



The day was filled with action-packed moments, with students and spectators alike enjoying every minute of the event. From close finishes in the races to nail-biting moments in badminton, every sport brought its own excitement and thrill. The first day’s events captured the essence of teamwork, determination, and perseverance. As the celebrations continued, participants and organizers alike looked forward to more memorable moments and greater achievements on Day 2.
