Make Calcutta Relevant Again (MCRA) initiated the festivities for ONYO PUJO with an auspicious Khuti Pujo ceremony at Offbeat CCU this Wednesday, September 11th. The ceremony was beautifully carried out by the consecration of the first bamboo pole, called the ‘khuti’, which will be used in the pandal for this year’s Durga Pujo. The khuti is considered the backbone of the pandal and is believed to bring good luck and blessings for the upcoming festival.
In collaboration with Hulladek and Y-East and supported by Techno India Group, Onyo Pujo will be a celebration of both tradition and innovation, side-by-side. Onyo Pujo will be focusing on the theme ‘Rebirth’, which talks about the transformation of a caterpillar to a butterfly – a celebration of revitalisation and new beginnings. This sustainable pandal will be the showstopper of this year’s Durga Pujo, shining light on the importance of preservation, sustainability and a journey towards a greener, safer future for humanity.
Everyone was all smiles during this holy ceremony, hopeful for a beautiful festival to be enjoyed with all our loved ones. The consecration of the bamboo pole was initiated by Prof. Manoshi Roy Chowdhury, Co-chairperson of Techno India Group and Meghdut Roy Chowdhury Executive Director & Chief Innovation Officer of Techno India Group.
Onyo Pujo will be the place to come together and celebrate creativity, new ideas, and more sustainable ways of living our lives alongside the joy of festivities.
