Ramgarh Engineering College Marks 80th Independence Day with Patriotic Spirit

Ramgarh | August 15, 2026: Ramgarh Engineering College (REC), Ramgarh, celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day with enthusiasm, patriotic fervour and a strong sense of national pride on August 15, 2026.

The celebration began with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem. Students, faculty members and staff came together to honour the freedom fighters whose sacrifices laid the foundation of an independent India.

Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Sharbani Roy highlighted the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and the responsibility of educational institutions in shaping the nation’s future. She said, “Our students are the future of India. Let us empower them with knowledge, values and innovation to build a strong, self-reliant and developed nation.”

Vice Principal Dr. Nazmul Islam emphasised the significant role of young people in nation-building and encouraged students to harness technology, education and innovation to address real-world challenges. He remarked, “True independence means having the freedom to think, innovate and contribute positively to society.”

Reflecting on the significance of the occasion, Media Coordinator Mr. Pallab Das remembered the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters and underlined the importance of patriotism, social responsibility and active student participation in nation-building. He said, “Let us honour the sacrifices of our freedom fighters by building an India that is innovative, inclusive and self-reliant.”

NSS Coordinator Mr. Rupam Pal highlighted the importance of social service and encouraged students to contribute to community development and welfare activities through NSS. He said, “The true spirit of independence lies in serving society and becoming responsible citizens of the nation.”

The celebration witnessed the active participation of several faculty members, including Manoj Das, Nilesh Kumar, Chandan Raj, Asim Kumar Mahato, Bagesh Bihari, Ayani Nandi, Sudeshna Bera, Suvankar Samanta, Rajeev Ranjan, Gourab Dutta, Shivam Raj, Md Danish Mustafa, Abhishek Yadav, Bijay Kumar Mahato, Nighat Fatma, Shiv Kumar, Uttam Biswas, Pranav Kumar Pandey, Keshab Chatterjee, Kamal Ahmed, Komal Kumari, Mamani Mondal, Trina Saha, Amrit Raj, Sikandar Kumar and Subhra Vidyanta Khan.

Adding vibrancy to the occasion, students presented patriotic songs, speeches and cultural performances. The campus resonated with a strong spirit of patriotism and unity as participants paid tribute to the nation’s freedom fighters and national heroes.

Beyond commemorating India’s independence, the programme reinforced the values of education, innovation, technology, social responsibility and national unity as essential pillars for building a developed and self-reliant India.
