TIU School of Future Inspires New Batch at Orientation Programme 2026

Kolkata | August 7, 2026: Techno India University, West Bengal, through its School of Future, organized a comprehensive Orientation Programme to welcome the newly admitted students of Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), B.Sc. in Generative AI and B.Sc. in Cyber Security. Designed to familiarize students with the university’s academic ecosystem, industry-oriented learning environment and future-ready vision, the programme marked the beginning of an exciting journey of knowledge, innovation and personal growth.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome and the formal introduction of the distinguished dignitaries, including Prof. Ishaan Ghosh, Associate Dean of Student Affairs, Head of Administration & Chair, Disciplinary Committee; Prof. (Dr.) Partho Mallick, Head, School of Future; Prof. (Dr.) Anil Bikash Chowdhuri, Senior Professor, School of Future; and Ms. Poorva Bhattacharya, Senior Manager, Corporate Relations and Affairs. The inaugural session emphasized the significance of higher education in preparing students for emerging technologies and future careers.

Delivering the welcome address, Prof. (Dr.) Partho Mallick highlighted the growing importance of future technologies and encouraged students to embrace continuous learning. He remarked, “Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Computer Applications are not merely academic disciplines-they are gateways to some of the most exciting and impactful careers of the future.” Stressing the importance of self-driven growth, he added, “Your success will ultimately depend on your commitment, discipline, curiosity and willingness to learn continuously. Lifelong learning remains the hallmark of every successful technology professional.”

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Ishaan Ghosh emphasized the University’s commitment to holistic development beyond academics. He stated, “Academics is undoubtedly a priority at our university. Alongside academic excellence, we equally value your passions-be it culture, technology, sports or any other field. Whatever dream you carry within you, it is our responsibility to help you transform it into reality.” He also encouraged students to adopt a practical approach towards learning, saying, “Learn, Implement and Re-learn. Learning is never complete without implementation. It is only when you apply your knowledge that you discover where you need to learn again and continue growing.”

Sharing valuable life lessons, Prof. (Dr.) Anil Bikash Chowdhury encouraged students to make responsible use of modern educational resources. He observed, “Digital libraries, open-source software, online learning platforms, advanced laboratories and global connectivity have placed the world’s knowledge at your fingertips. Use technology as your tool, not your distraction.” Stressing the broader purpose of education, he added, “Education extends far beyond the classroom. It teaches you to think critically, solve problems creatively, communicate effectively, collaborate with others and make responsible decisions.”

Representing the Corporate Relations and Affairs division, Ms. Poorva Bhattacharya assured students of continuous guidance towards successful careers through industry exposure, internships and placement support. She encouraged the students by saying, “You are the budding creators of today, and we are here to give you the wings to fly. The future is not something we simply dream about-it is something we build together.” Looking ahead to their professional journey, she added, “Four years from now, I hope to see each one of you wearing a smile of success. Let us work together to build a future filled with opportunities, achievements and growth.”

The programme also introduced students to the School of Future’s academic ecosystem, faculty members, student support systems, placement initiatives, internships, industry collaborations and various student clubs designed to encourage leadership, innovation, technical excellence and holistic development.
