In a remarkable display of analytical acumen and innovation, Team Sanskript from ASMi Business School, Techno India University, secured a coveted position among the Top 10 teams at the prestigious ThinkFest 2026, a national-level hackathon organized by IBM.Â
Held at AURO University, Surat, the two-day finale (March 23–24, 2026) brought together some of the brightest non-engineering minds from across the country. Representing ASMi, the team comprised Shaurya Sikdar Mathew, Tushar Kumar Agarwal and Zoya Haque, who demonstrated exceptional capability in leveraging data-driven insights to solve real-world business challenges.Â

A Platform for Innovation and Industry Exposure
ThinkFest 2026 witnessed participation from approximately 100 teams nationwide, with nearly 300 participants competing across two tracks—Data Dashboarding and Web Application Development. Team Sanskript competed in the Data Dashboarding track, which saw around 60 teams in contention.Â
The hackathon offered participants an immersive experience, complete with accommodation, meals, and IBM-curated welcome kits. More importantly, it provided a platform to engage with industry experts and tackle real-world problem statements.
Tackling Real-World Business Challenges
Teams were presented with five problem statements, out of which Team Sanskript selected Problem Statement D4: Retail E-Commerce Dynamic Margin & Cannibalization Analyzer. Using Power BI, the team developed a comprehensive dashboard solution within a rigorous 10-hour window on March 23.Â
Their solution demonstrated a strong grasp of data analytics, visualization, and business strategy—key competencies emphasized at ASMi.

Impressive Presentation and Recognition
On the final day, teams presented their solutions through live demonstrations, followed by intensive Q&A sessions with IBM experts. Team Sanskript stood out not only for the quality of their solution but also for their in-depth presentation, which extended to nearly 25 minutes—one of the longest sessions—reflecting the judges’ keen interest in their work.
The team received highly positive feedback and was ultimately selected among the Top 10 teams nationwide in the Data Dashboarding track—a significant achievement given the scale and competitiveness of the event.
Celebrating Excellence
Although the hackathon did not assign rank-based positions, the Top 10 recognition marked a major milestone for ASMi. The team was awarded certificates, IBM merchandise, and exclusive goodies, including Skullcandy headphones. A special memento was also brought back for Techno India University, symbolizing this achievement on a national platform.
A Proud Moment for ASMi and Techno India University
Team Sanskript’s success highlights the growing emphasis on practical, industry-oriented learning at ASMi Business School. Their achievement underscores the institution’s commitment to nurturing talent that can thrive in dynamic, real-world environments.
Participation in ThinkFest 2026 not only provided national exposure but also enabled meaningful interaction with industry leaders, reinforcing the importance of data-driven decision-making in today’s business landscape.
This accomplishment stands as a testament to the potential of ASMi students and marks yet another proud moment for Techno India University.
