Techno Olympica Knights 2025 Ends in a Roar of Talent, Tears, Triumph and Togetherness

By Suhani Shaw | Kolkata, 18 December 2025

Techno India Group’s flagship inter-school sporting extravaganza, Techno Olympica Knights, wrapped up its 5th edition with not just applause—but goosebumps. What began as a sporting contest ended as a celebration of courage, discipline, unity, and youthful fire, painting the Sports Complex in Kolkata with cheers loud enough to echo across the state.

This year was nothing short of historic: over 3,000 young athletes from 158 schools across West Bengal took the field, proving that sports in education is no longer an accessory—it is a heartbeat.

A Vision for Sporting Futures

The 5th edition marked a major evolution with the introduction of shooting led by Olympian Joydeep Karmakar, a breakthrough in expanding discipline and exposure across diverse sports.

Setting the tone for a future built on strength and inclusivity, Prof. Manoshi Roychowdhury, Co-Chairperson, Techno India Group, captured the spirit of the initiative with powerful conviction:

“Techno Olympica Knights has always been more than a sporting event—it is perseverance, inclusivity and mental well-being. We want students to challenge themselves, lead with confidence, and grow as human beings.”

Sayaani Das: A Young Athlete Inspiring Young Champions

Chief Guest Ms. Sayaani Das, a rising swimmer who has dominated district and state meets with her grit and quiet consistency, carried that message forward. Addressing the arena, she offered a lesson every student held close:

“Time management is not a skill—it is discipline shaped by data, focus, and the courage to lose before winning again. Sport teaches the rhythm of victory, failure, and resilience, and only those who learn to compete with time truly rise. Representing one’s country is the greatest honour, and gratitude is the strength that keeps an athlete moving forward.”

Her words fell into an arena already charged with emotion — a reminder that winning is an outcome, but resilience is a choice.

A Commitment to Wellness and Lifelong Strength

Reinforcing the long-game view of athletic engagement, Mr. Meghdut RoyChowdhury, Chief Innovation Officer & Executive Director, Techno India Group, delivered an uncompromising reminder about self-respect, physical investment, and future readiness.“Your body is a temple, and neglecting it in your youth leaves scars time can never heal. True success is no longer measured by wealth alone, but by wellness, resilience, and longevity shaped through sport and discipline. Fitness is not a luxury — it is a lifelong investment. The sooner you begin, the longer your mind and body will serve you.”

His message struck at the heart of Techno Olympica Knights — that medals matter, but mindsets matter more.

A Stage of Leaders, Not Just Guests

The presence of distinguished dignitaries further elevated the spirit of the ceremony. Alongside Ms. Sayaani Das were Mr. Debashis Sen, IAS (Retd); Dr. Kunal Sarkar, Senior Vice Chairman & Chief Cardiac Surgeon, Medica; Mr. Rumman Dastgir, Consul, U.S. Consulate General, Kolkata; and Prof. Manoshi Roychowdhury, Co-Chairperson, Techno India Group. Their collective presence reinforced a powerful belief — that children deserve more than applause; they deserve opportunity, guidance, and platforms that push them to excel.

Champions of the Arena

This year, the loudest cheers were reserved for the school that rose above the rest—National Modern High School, crowned the overall champions of Techno Olympica Knights 2025. Their performance symbolised consistency, grit, and a winning culture powered by teamwork.

Big Winners, Bigger Hearts

Beyond medals, this edition honoured heart, fairness, and spirit. Special category awards brought roaring applause:

Best Cheering Award: Lake School for Girls
Fair Play Award: Gurbachan Singh Sondhi Girls School
Best Athlete (Girls): Chumki Haldar, Future Hope School
Best Athlete (Boys): Dhrubraj Mallick, Assembly of Christ School

Their victories told stories — of sweat that nobody saw, dawn practice sessions, and dreams bigger than limitation.

A Ceremony That Felt Like India in One Voice

The closing ceremony opened in the most emotional way—students from TIGPS took the stage and sang Vande Mataram in their own style, stirring the crowd and turning the arena electric. Parents stood up, athletes held their breath, and for a moment, sport became poetry.

What followed felt like a cultural marathon—Kalari Payattu moves slicing through the air, the fierce grace of Mardani from Maratha tradition, Parikhanda by Jharkhand and Bihar pulsing with warrior rhythm, Bengal’s signature Lathi-Nach bringing local pride, and finally Mile Sur Mera Tumhara reminding everyone that the power of unity is unbeatable.

More Than Sports… A Journey of Character

Techno Olympica Knights continues to uphold its mission of instilling self-confidence, teamwork, leadership, and discipline. By bringing together children from diverse backgrounds, it cultivates camaraderie, healthy competition, and mutual respect.

And at the emotional centre stands one lesson: a child’s future is shaped not only in classrooms, but in courage, pain, stamina, teamwork, humility and self-belief.

As the lights dimmed and the applause faded, one thing stayed alive — a spark in the eyes of 3,000 children who are already dreaming bigger, running faster, and climbing higher.

That is the real victory.
