Chaibasa Engineering College, part of the Techno India Group, has opened a new chapter in its journey of innovation and entrepreneurship with the inauguration of a renovated Mini Incubation Centre on November 29, 2025. This initiative reflects the college’s dedication to creating a space where ideas can grow alongside academics, empowering students to think creatively and act entrepreneurially.
The Mini Incubation Centre, redesigned by the Start-up Cell The Root in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), has transformed the earlier Start-up Cell office into a vibrant hub for budding entrepreneurs. It features a four-seater desk office, a dedicated meeting room, and an activity area designed to encourage brainstorming, collaboration, and early-stage project development.
The facility was inaugurated by Sri Siddhant Kumar, IAS, Assistant Collector, West Singhbhum, in the presence of the Principal of JNV Jhinkpani, the Principal (I/C) of Chaibasa Engineering College, and all Heads of Departments. Their presence highlighted the importance of this step towards creating a supportive ecosystem for innovation on campus.
With the launch of this centre, students now have a dedicated space to explore ideas, experiment, and receive mentorship while continuing their academic pursuits. The Start-up Cell plans to host workshops, bootcamps, and mentorship programmes to guide students in turning their ideas into impactful ventures, bridging the gap between imagination and reality.
The journey to this milestone began in 2018 under the guidance of Prof. Debabrata Raha, the then Founding Coordinator of the Start-up Cell and the current Principal (I/C). During the inauguration, Prof. Raha expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Techno India Management for their unwavering support. He also praised Dr. Abhishek Sinha Mahapatra, Start-up Cell Coordinator, Prof. Tanmay Das, IIC President, and the entire team for their dedication in bringing this vision to life.
