In a world where most students are busy planning their next assignment submission, two young innovators from the B.Tech Biotechnology department of Techno India University (TIU) are already sowing seeds of change—quite literally. Debjeeta Bandyopadhyay and Lagnajit Acharya, co-founders of earthlyEATS, have turned their passion for health and sustainability into a thriving startup that is already making a difference.
Founded in August 2025, earthlyEATS is barely two weeks old, yet it has already generated ₹3,000 in revenue—a remarkable milestone for a student-led initiative. What makes their venture stand out is not just the numbers but the purpose behind it. At earthlyEATS, they grow microgreens—tiny, nutrient-packed edible plants harvested just a few days after germination. These greens are no ordinary veggies; they carry up to 40 times more nutrition than their mature counterparts. Research suggests they can support diabetes management, strengthen heart health, and even exhibit anti-cancer properties.
This isn’t theory—it’s impact in action. Today, two of their customers are cancer patients, whose doctors have specifically recommended including microgreens in their daily diet. Knowing that their idea is already helping people live healthier lives has only strengthened the duo’s resolve.

What’s truly inspiring is that Debjeeta and Lagnajit have built this system from the ground up. Using a fully indoor organic growing setup, they ensure that the greens are grown without chemicals and remain fresh till they reach the customer. With the launch of their official website — www.earthlyeats.in — they’ve already stepped into the digital marketplace, making it possible for anyone to get these little powerhouses of nutrition delivered straight to their doorstep.
Their story is not just about entrepreneurship—it’s about mindset. At such a young age, these TIU students have chosen to use their education and creativity to serve society. Their initiative reflects the ethos Techno India University is known for: nurturing not just scholars but visionaries.
Much of this culture of innovation can be credited to Meghdut RoyChowdhury, Exective Director and CIO at Techno India Group. His consistent encouragement, mentorship, and emphasis on real-world problem solving have inspired countless students to explore entrepreneurship as a career path. Debjeeta and Lagnajit’s journey with earthlyEATS stands as living proof of how TIU’s ecosystem is shaping changemakers who dare to dream differently and execute fearlessly.
The entire TIU community wishes them the very best for their journey ahead with earthlyEATS, hoping their vision continues to grow and inspire many more.
