Techno India University, West Bengal, is all set to host its much-awaited Annual Convocation Ceremony 2025 on Wednesday, 20th August 2025, at the iconic Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, New Town, Kolkata. The convocation marks a momentous occasion in the academic calendar of the university, as graduating students receive their degrees in the august presence of distinguished guests, eminent academicians, and revered dignitaries.
The ceremony will be graced by Padma Shri Sanghamitra Bandyopadhyay, Director of the Indian Statistical Institute, alongside the leadership of Techno India Group — Prof. Dr. Goutam Roychowdhury, Chancellor, Techno India University and Chairman, Techno India Group; Prof. Manoshi Roychowdhury, Co-Chancellor, Techno India University and Co-Chairperson, Techno India Group; and Mr. Meghdut Roychowdhury, Executive Director and Chief Innovation Officer, Techno India Group. Their presence will add immense significance to the celebration, inspiring students as they step into the next chapter of their professional journeys.
A major highlight of the convocation will be the conferment of honorary D. Litt degrees upon a galaxy of distinguished personalities who have left an indelible mark in their respective fields. This year, the honours will be bestowed upon Padma Vibhushan Dr. Raghunath Anant Mashelkar (Chemical Engineer), Padma Bhushan Rajeev Sethi (Designer & Scenographer), Padma Shri P.C. Sorcar (Jr.) (Performing Arts), Padma Shri Hariharan (Singer), Padma Shri Arunachalam Muruganantham (Social Entrepreneur & Padman Innovator), Padma Shri Shubha Mudgal (Singer), Padma Shri Aparna Sen (Film Maker & Actress), Dr. Sumantra Chattarji (Clinical Psychology & Mental Health Advocacy), Dr. Hrishikesh Kumar (Neurologist), and Ms. Asma Khan (Culinary Anthropology & Cultural Preservation).
