Dumka Engineering College, part of the Techno India Group, celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India on 26 January 2026 with great pride and patriotic fervour. The campus came alive with enthusiasm as over 1,500 students participated in the celebration, reflecting unity, discipline, and a strong sense of national responsibility.
The celebration seamlessly blended patriotism with technology, creativity, and innovation. A grand parade marked the beginning of the programme, followed by engaging poster and model presentations where students showcased how engineering solutions and technological thinking can address real-world challenges. Patriotic songs, cultural performances, and inspiring speeches further enriched the event, highlighting India’s democratic ideals and cultural diversity.

Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Ganesh Shankar emphasized the significance of Republic Day in the life of an engineer. He highlighted that engineers are the architects of national infrastructure, digital advancement, and sustainable development, and must therefore uphold constitutional values, discipline, and integrity. He encouraged students to apply their technical knowledge responsibly for nation-building.
Vice-Principal Dr. Ratan Kumar Bose, in his address, spoke about the crucial role of youth in strengthening democracy and national unity. He stated that Republic Day serves as a reminder for engineering students to grow into professionals who balance technical excellence with ethical conduct and social responsibility. He also noted that such large-scale celebrations help nurture leadership skills, teamwork, and national pride among students.
Adding an innovation-driven perspective, Institution Innovation Council (IIC) President Prof. Pankaj Sarkar highlighted the role of innovation, research, and technology in the progress of a developing nation like India. He remarked that Republic Day inspires young engineers to innovate for societal needs, promote self-reliance, and contribute meaningfully to national development. Participation in such programmes, he added, enhances technical, communication, and organizational skills while strengthening moral values and discipline.






The Republic Day 2026 celebration at Dumka Engineering College stood as a perfect blend of patriotism, academic excellence, technological thinking, and cultural expression. The event reinforced the institution’s vision of nurturing responsible engineers who contribute not only to technological growth but also to the social and moral fabric of the nation.
