Ramgarh Engineering College Observes National Youth Day

Ramgarh Engineering College, part of Techno India Group marked National Youth Day with a meaningful and spirited programme on January 12, commemorating the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the great Indian monk, philosopher, and youth icon. The celebration was jointly organized by the NSS Cell and the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), drawing enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and coordinators.

The programme began on a solemn note with a floral tribute to Swami Vivekananda, setting the tone for a day dedicated to reflection, inspiration, and purpose. The event aimed to reconnect young minds with Vivekananda’s timeless ideals of strength, self-belief, service, and nation-building, encouraging students to apply these values in their academic pursuits, innovation-driven thinking, and social responsibilities.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sharbani Roy, Principal of Ramgarh Engineering College, highlighted the transformative role of youth in shaping the nation’s destiny. Emphasizing the relevance of Vivekananda’s vision even today, she remarked, “Swami Vivekananda envisioned a fearless and self-reliant youth as the foundation of a strong nation. His thoughts continue to guide us even today. Our institution is committed to nurturing students who are not only technically sound but also morally strong and socially responsible.”

Dr. Nazmul Islam, Vice Principal, reflected on the significance of Vivekananda’s teachings in the modern technological era. He stressed the need for youth to strike a balance between progress and values, stating, “In an age of rapid change and competition, Swami Vivekananda’s message of self-belief and discipline is more relevant than ever. Today’s youth must combine knowledge with character and innovation with ethics to lead the country towards sustainable development.”

The programme also featured insightful addresses from the coordinators. Mr. Rupam Kumar Pal, NSS Coordinator, underlined the importance of service, empathy, and social commitment, reminding students that true nation-building begins with responsibility towards society.
Mr. Arunabha Datta, IIC Coordinator, emphasized the growing role of innovation and entrepreneurship, encouraging students to channel Vivekananda’s fearless spirit into creative problem-solving and start-up initiatives.
Adding another dimension, Mr. Pallab Das, Media Coordinator, spoke on the power of communication and awareness in inspiring and mobilizing the youth.

The event was graced by the presence of several faculty members, including Ashis Narayan Sugan Mundu, Ayani Nandi, Komal Kumari, Abhimanyu Kumar, Kesav Chatterjee, Gourav Dutta, among others, whose participation added depth and encouragement to the proceedings.
