The Dumka District-Level School Project Competition and Exhibition for students of Classes 9 to 12 was held with great enthusiasm at the Indoor Stadium, Dumka, on 10 November 2025. Organized under the directives of the Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC), Ranchi, Government of Jharkhand, and supported academically by Dumka Engineering College, the event turned into a grand platform for young innovators across the district to showcase their creativity, scientific thinking, and technological aspirations.
More than 100 schools from across Dumka participated in this mega event, presenting around 500 innovative project models spanning diverse fields such as agriculture, handicraft, computer science, cyber security, electric vehicles & automation, beauty and wellness products, AI & ML applications, engineering models, medical science innovations, robotics, animal husbandry, and plantation technologies.
These exhibits reflected the growing interest of young students in technology-driven solutions and sustainable development. The evaluation process of the projects was conducted by the faculty members of Dumka Engineering College, who meticulously assessed each model on creativity, scientific approach, problem-solving potential, and real-world applicability.






Prof. Pankaj Sarkar, President of the Institution Innovation Council (IIC), Dumka Engineering College, was officially nominated as an evaluator by the JEPC, Ranchi, for this district event. The official invitation was issued by the Jharkhand Education Project Council, Government of Jharkhand.
The presence of experienced evaluators from Dumka Engineering College enhanced the academic and technical quality of the event, providing students with constructive feedback and guidance on how to refine their innovations for future opportunities.
Speaking about the significance of the programme, Principal Dr. Ganesh Shankar expressed immense pride and said, “This event has provided a remarkable platform for school students to demonstrate their scientific curiosity and innovative thinking. The diversity of projects highlights the emerging talent of Dumka’s youth and their readiness to contribute to technological progress.”
Vice-Principal Dr. Ratan Kumar Bose emphasized the developmental impact of the event, stating, “Competitions like these not only help students enhance their skills but also encourage them to think critically and creatively. The participation of such a large number of schools shows that the spirit of innovation is growing strongly among the younger generation.”
IIC President Prof. Pankaj Sarkar, who served as one of the key evaluators, highlighted the broader role of such initiatives, saying, “This kind of event not only develops technical and creative skills among students but also strengthens the startup and innovation ecosystem of the state and the nation. Encouraging young minds at this stage helps build the foundation for future entrepreneurs, technologists, and researchers.”
The event concluded with appreciation for the participating schools, teachers, coordinators, and evaluation team for their dedicated efforts. The impressive turnout and the quality of projects reaffirmed Dumka’s commitment to fostering innovation-driven education.
The Dumka Engineering College faculty’s involvement further ensured that the event achieved its objective of motivating students to explore scientific and technological pathways—contributing meaningfully to the growth of a future-ready India.
