On 25th November, the Google Developer Group (GDG) on Campus at Techno India University began the 2025–26 academic session with a high-energy orientation that brought together more than 650 freshers. The event created an atmosphere of curiosity, motivation, and community — setting a strong foundation for the year ahead.
GDG on Campus TIU is the university’s official chapter of the global Google Developer Group network. Known for its culture of hands-on learning, the club provides students with opportunities across diverse domains including AI & ML, Cybersecurity, Web Development, Cloud Computing, IoT, Robotics, DSA, UI/UX Design, and several other technical and non-technical fields. The orientation helped freshers understand how GDG bridges academic learning with real-world, industry-aligned skills through workshops, bootcamps, projects, and community-driven activities.
The program was enriched by the guidance of the university’s distinguished academic leaders — Prof. Dr. Samiran Chattopadhyay, Vice Chancellor; Prof. Ishan Ghosh, Head of Administration, Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee, and Associate Dean of Student Affairs; and Dr. Avik Paul, Academic Coordinator. Their addresses offered students valuable insights into the future of technology, the importance of collaborative learning, and the role of developer communities in shaping career-ready graduates.
The chapter organizer, Pradip Sadhukhan, played a central role in coordinating the event and streamlining the chapter’s vision for the new session. Adding depth to the orientation, former GDG members and alumni shared their personal journeys — speaking about project development, leadership experiences, participation in national-level initiatives, and their involvement in Google-led programs. Their stories gave freshers a realistic and inspiring perspective on the impact GDG can create.
One of the most uplifting moments of the event was the recognition ceremony for the previous year’s members. Seeing their hard work in workshops, events, and community projects appreciated in front of the freshers added a genuine sense of pride to the room. It was a moment that not only celebrated their journey but also inspired the new batch to get involved, contribute, and grow within the GDG community.
The domain leads then presented an overview of the upcoming activities — including specialized workshops, Google Cloud programs, coding bootcamps, design challenges, and cross-domain collaborative projects. The roadmap provided clarity on the opportunities awaiting students and the diverse paths they can explore within the community.
The orientation concluded with an enthusiastic response from the audience, with a large number of students expressing their interest in joining the club. The strong turnout and positive reception marked a promising start for GDG on Campus TIU 2025–26, reaffirming its role as one of the most active and impactful student communities on campus.
