National Constitution Day Observed with Pride at REC under NSS

On 26 November, Ramgarh Engineering College, part of the Techno India Group, observed National Constitution Day with dignity and enthusiasm as the NSS unit organized a meaningful programme to honour the adoption of the Indian Constitution. The celebration served as an important platform to reinforce among students the values of democracy, constitutional responsibility, and national unity.

The program commenced with a collective reading of the Preamble, creating an atmosphere of reflection and respect. This symbolic act connected students with the vision of the Constitution’s framers and reminded them of the foundational ideals that define India as a sovereign, democratic republic. An inaugural address followed, explaining the historical relevance of the day, the journey of the Constituent Assembly, and the leadership of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in shaping the Constitution.

Faculty members contributed to the occasion by discussing the significance of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity—principles that form the moral backbone of the nation. Their insights encouraged students to look beyond textbooks and understand how these ideals shape real-world democratic practices, social harmony, and individual rights.

The event also featured enthusiastic participation from students who engaged in speeches, discussions, and the pledge ceremony. These activities helped students express their perspectives on constitutional ethics, civic duties, and the importance of being responsible citizens in a diverse nation. Their active involvement reflected a growing awareness of the Constitution’s relevance in everyday life and its role in guiding social behaviour and public responsibility.

Principal Dr. Sharbani Roy emphasized the importance of constitutional literacy among youth, stating, “The Constitution is the backbone of our democratic system. It is the duty of every citizen, especially students, to understand and uphold its ideals.” Vice-Principal Dr. Nazmul Islam added that NSS-led initiatives foster a deeper connection between students and national values, inspiring them to contribute positively to society.

The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of the NSS volunteers, faculty, and participants. The closing remarks left students with a renewed sense of pride and responsibility towards the nation’s constitutional vision. The programme not only celebrated a day of national importance but also reinforced the college’s dedication to nurturing socially aware, value-driven, and responsible young citizens. Through initiatives like this, Ramgarh Engineering College continues to inspire students to uphold the spirit of the Constitution in their thoughts, actions, and contributions to society.
