In a remarkable moment of pride for India and Techno India Group, Prof. Debanjan Banerjee, Dean & Adviser of Media Science at Techno Main Salt Lake, attended the prestigious “Honest View – 2025” Media Awards held at the Mercury Space, Mercury City tower in Moscow, Russia. The event marked the 100th anniversary of public diplomacy, celebrating a century of international cooperation and cultural understanding since its inception in 1925.
Describing the experience as a “lifetime memorable event,” Prof. Banerjee expressed deep honor in representing India among over 115 global delegates. “It was a proud moment not just for me, but for our nation,” he said. “The warmth and hospitality of the Russian government were wonderful, flawless, and systematic.”
The awards, organized under the banner of Rossotrudnichestvo, brought together diplomats, journalists, and media scholars from around the world to strengthen international cooperation through media and communication. Prof. Banerjee participated in open dialogues that explored public diplomacy, cultural cooperation, and the role of New Media and Artificial Intelligence in shaping a better global narrative.

During the event, Prof. Banerjee was interviewed about GPT-3 and OpenAI, alongside several international delegates. “Not only my interview,” he shared, “all the foreign delegates asked me about Impact of AI in Indian Media Industry and how we can contribute to media diplomacy for cultural and media exchanges.”
A strong advocate for positive and development journalism, Prof. Banerjee highlighted the imbalance in global media coverage. “While conflict dominates media narratives, development stories, innovation, and human-interest stories are equally important,” he emphasized. “If I make a story of development or human interest, that’s a positive contribution compared to stories of war or hatred.”
He further praised the initiative’s vision, stating, “This kind of public diplomacy, which Russian Federation organized, is a very good initiative. Everybody will be together, holding hands, doing cultural exchanges, developmental studies together, and taking the world in a better direction—free from war, conflict, violence, and terrorism.”
Reflecting on the event’s larger message, Prof. Banerjee summed it up beautifully:
“Inclusiveness can take us on zenith of Prosperity. “
The “Honest View – 2025” Media Awards celebrated not only the best journalistic practices but also reaffirmed the power of media as a bridge between nations. For India, Prof. Banerjee’s participation stands as a shining example of academic excellence, cultural diplomacy, and the growing influence of Indian media education on the global stage.
From the heart of Techno India Group to the world stage in Moscow, this moment marks another milestone in India’s journey of intellectual exchange, innovation, and peace through communication — proving once again that the power of storytelling can unite nations beyond borders.
