The atmosphere at École Intuit Lab at Techno India University buzzed with excitement on May 9th, 2025, as the institution played host to two luminaries from the world of animation: Pramita Mukherjee, Senior Character Effects Developer, and Pradipto Sengupta, Head of CFX, both from the world renowned DreamWorks Animation. With a wealth of experience gleaned from their significant contributions to blockbuster hits like Kung Fu Panda 4, Boss Baby, and Puss in Boots, the duo generously shared their profound understanding of the animation industry with the eager design students of École Intuit Lab.

The session blossomed into a vibrant and interactive exchange, with students seizing the invaluable opportunity to pose thoughtful questions. In turn, Pramita and Pradipto offered equally significant and insightful answers, effectively broadening the students’ horizons and fueling their aspirations within the dynamic realm of animation.

Reflecting on the encounter, Pradipto remarked warmly, “It was a very interesting session, and a very candid one at that. It’s always great to be able to meet new minds who are passionate about working in this industry.” Pramita echoed this sentiment, expressing her delight at the students’ insightful inquiries at such an early stage of their careers. She further lauded Techno India’s efforts, stating, “I was really happy to see that they were asking all the right questions at such a young age. Techno India is doing an incredible job in nurturing the mindset of students in the right direction… I really enjoyed this organic session.”

Addressing the inevitable evolution of the animation landscape and offering guidance on how students can navigate these shifts, Pradipto emphasized the importance of self-awareness and passion. “It’s important to identify what your strength is, and work more on it… tools and technology are evolving every day. I think the most important part is to love your work and be passionate about what you’re doing. Fall in love with the creative process.”

Pramita emphasised on the crucial role of mental fortitude in this demanding yet rewarding field. “The need of the hour in this industry is to have a very strong mindset. If you have a good understanding of what the animation industry is like and you’re prepared from day one, you’ll be good. Don’t ever give up on learning – it’s a lifelong process.”
