Techno India University recently hosted a series of insightful sessions on Digital Sustainability, bringing together faculty and students to discuss the crucial need for environmental awareness in the digital age. The two-day affair was meticulously organized with the support of Mr. Anit Adhikari, Director & CEO at Techno India Group, Ishan Ghosh, Head of Administration at Techno India University, Prof. Samiran Chattopadhyay, Vice Chancellor at Techno India University, Dr. Rina Paladhi, Director at Techno India University, and Dr. Sujoy Biswas, Director and CEO at Techno India University and Techno India Group, whose dedication to the cause of sustainability was evident throughout the event.


The session with the faculty proved to be an enriching experience, fostering a collaborative environment where impactful and implementable ideas were generated within a short timeframe. Subsequently, the session with the students offered a refreshing opportunity to sow seeds of awareness and mindfulness regarding the digital emissions footprint in the minds of future professionals.
As computing power increasingly permeates nearly every aspect of our lives, it is paramount that the decision-makers of tomorrow begin to think critically and engage in conversations about the necessity of optimizing and offsetting actions that impact the environment. It was emphasized that computing power is neither a free nor a green resource, underscoring the importance of being a responsible user in the digital landscape.



The WICCI-Corporate Sustainability Council expressed their pleasure in being part of these very insightful sessions, which were expertly conducted by Dr. Niladri Choudhuri and Dr. Surabhi Prakash of the Green Computing Foundation. The initiative at Techno India University marks a significant step towards fostering a culture of digital responsibility and environmental consciousness among both educators and the next generation of leaders.
