Techno Main Salt Lake‘s Geekonix, the official science and technology club of the college, hosted Geekathon 2025, an inter-college hackathon that became a battleground for some of the most brilliant young minds in the country. Designed to encourage innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving, the event brought together aspiring technologists from top engineering institutions. The overwhelming participation from prestigious colleges like Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, Adamas University, Netaji Subhash Engineering College, and even renowned institutes like KIIT and VIT, set the stage for an intense competition.
The hackathon saw a massive turnout, with 77 teams eager to showcase their technical prowess. After rigorous evaluation, 50 teams were shortlisted to present their ground breaking ideas at Techno Main Salt Lake. Each team was given a unique challenge based on real-world problems spanning 12 diverse domains. These young innovators worked tirelessly, developing solutions that could potentially reshape industries through technology.



The event was honoured by the presence of esteemed dignitaries who shared their insights and inspired participants. Among them were Dr. Debashish De, Professor at MAKAUT; Dr. Jyotishekhar Banerjee, Secretary of The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers; Mr. Snehashish Banerjee, Secretary of the Computer Society of India, Kolkata Chapter; Dr. Sujoy Biswas, CEO and Director of Techno India Group; Dr. Samiran Chattopadhyay, Vice Chancellor of Techno India University; Prof. Dr. Dipankar Bhattacharyay, Principal of Techno Main Salt Lake; and Dr. Dharmadas Mondal, Dean of Techno Main Salt Lake. Their words of encouragement and expertise added immense value to the experience of the participants.
Geekathon 2025 wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of its sponsors, including the Association for Computing Machinery Kolkata, The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), Computer Society of India (CSI), Institutions Innovation Council, and the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE). Their contributions played a crucial role in making the event a grand success.



As the competition reached its thrilling conclusion, the most outstanding projects were recognized and awarded for their creativity and technical brilliance. The team TechVerse emerged as the champion, securing first place, while SHEcurity and Innovators claimed the second and third positions, respectively. Their exceptional work set a benchmark for future participants and proved that innovation, when combined with determination, can lead to extraordinary results.
Participants were thrilled with the well-structured event, appreciating the seamless execution, engaging problem statements, and the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded individuals. Many described Geekathon 2025 as an intense yet rewarding experience that pushed them beyond their limits. The platform allowed them to not only showcase their skills but also network with industry experts and receive valuable feedback to refine their ideas.
With yet another successful edition of Geekathon, Techno Main Salt Lake has reaffirmed its commitment to fostering technological excellence. The event concluded with a shared vision—to empower students, push the boundaries of innovation, and transform ideas into impactful solutions for the future.
