Ramgarh Engineering College, situated at Murubanda and established by the Government of Jharkhand, celebrated National Science Day on February 28, 2025, on the college campus. The event was organized by the Institute Innovation Council (IIC) of the college, which is run by Techno India Group. This annual celebration marks a tribute to the great Indian physicist Dr. C.V. Raman, who discovered the Raman Effect in 1928, a scientific breakthrough that earned him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930.
The event featured an insightful online lecture by Dr. Debabrata Roy, assistant professor at Dumka Engineering College, who spoke about the significance of National Science Day and how it plays a crucial role in spreading awareness about scientific advancements and innovations. He highlighted how science has transformed human lives over the years, from the invention of electricity to modern artificial intelligence.


Following this, Mr. Pallab Das, Dr. Ayani Nandi, and Dr. Chandan Raj elaborated on the importance of scientific thinking and how research and innovation are shaping the future. They encouraged students to embrace curiosity and contribute to the scientific community by exploring new ideas and technologies.
To make the event more interactive, a quiz competition was organized where students tested their knowledge of science, technology, and innovation. The winners were honoured in a prize distribution ceremony, recognizing their enthusiasm and excellence in science-related topics.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sharbani Roy, Principal of Ramgarh Engineering College, emphasized the legacy of Dr. C.V. Raman and the importance of scientific research. She stated,
“Our nation celebrates National Science Day to honour the scientific contributions of Dr. C.V. Raman. By remembering his remarkable achievements, we aim to inspire our students to engage in research and innovation, which are essential for national progress.”
Dr. Nazmul Islam, Vice Principal, highlighted the relevance of science in modern society and the need for scientific thinking. He said,
“We have entered into a scientific era where technology is at the core of everything we do. We want our students to think critically and apply scientific reasoning to solve real-world problems. Science is not just about theories; it’s about innovation, experimentation, and making a difference in society.”





The event was successfully organized by the IPR Club of students, under the guidance of Professor Arunabha Datta, Coordinator of the Institute Innovation Council (IIC). Several faculty members graced the occasion, including Dr. Ashish Narayan, Mr. Pallab Das, Mrs. Ayani Nandi, Mr. Nilesh Kumar, Dr. Chandan Raj, Mr. Asim Mahato, Mr. Rupam Kumar Pal, Mrs. Komal Kumari, Mr. Subhankar Samanta, Mr. Gourab Dutta, and Mr. Vivek Kumar Mondal.
