Campus Flea 5.0 Brings Rakhi Spirit and Student Entrepreneurship Together

Techno India University, West Bengal hosted Campus Flea 5.0 – Rakhi Edition, a two-day celebration of student entrepreneurship held on August 25–26 at the Biryani Canteen Ground. With the theme “Celebrate the bond, support young dreams!”, the event brought together student entrepreneurs, showcasing their products and ideas while creating a vibrant space for the university community to shop, connect and support young businesses.

Building on the spirit of Campus Flea 4.0, which brought student-run ventures across art, fashion, food and lifestyle to the campus, the fifth edition continued to provide students with a platform to turn their ideas into real entrepreneurial experiences.

The Rakhi edition featured a diverse range of student ventures offering handmade jewellery, crochet products, candles, customised accessories, fashion and creative lifestyle products, with several student entrepreneurs presenting specially curated festive collections.

Ketoki, a homegrown fashion brand by Ojoswita Dhara, B.Com Honours, selling sarees, blouses, kurtis, co-ord sets, Indo-Western wear and gowns, reflects her vision of blending modernity with tradition as she shared,“Ketoki is a homegrown brand where modernity meets tradition, bringing together curated pieces that range from kurtis and gowns to corsets, blouses and sarees. Campus Flea has been an amazing experience, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to showcase my brand here”.

The Crafted Flames, a handmade venture by Arjaita Haldar and Abir Naskar, B.Tech CSE-AI, selling handmade crochet items, bookmarks and aromatic candles, brings together creativity and craftsmanship as they shared, “My brand is consisting of handmade crochet items, bookmarks and aromatic candles. Today we got the opportunity from the Biryani Canteen. This is a Rakhi special edition, bringing up with homemade candles and bookmarks.”

Bit of Khushi, a handcrafted brand by Manjistha Hazra, CSE, selling earrings, keychains, rakhis, fridge magnets and trays, brings together handmade creations designed to spread joy as she shared, “Here I am with my handmade little things which gives you joy. Please come and check out my products. It will give you joy and khushi. So my tagline is Bit of Khushi.”

Purvi Plucks, by Purvi Modi, BBA, selling handmade flowers, cute keychains and customised orders, offers handmade creations as she shared, “We sell handmade flowers, cute keychains and custom orders. Techno India University is giving so much opportunities to us and the crowd here is so helpful and thoughtful. Thank you for your support.”

Aaboron, a handmade jewellery brand by Riddhima Datta, Architecture, selling clay, handmade and oxidised jewellery, showcases her creative jewellery as she shared, “It is basically a jewellery brand featuring clay jewellery, handmade pieces and oxidised jewellery. I am really grateful to TBC for organising Campus Flea and giving us this opportunity. It is a rare and valuable platform for small business owners like us, and the campus has been a very friendly and supportive place for college students to showcase their work.”

Rooh Official, a bead-based venture by Baibhabi Maity, B.Tech CSE-AI, selling bead products, necklaces and bracelets, reflects her aspiration to explore entrepreneurship as she shared, “I always want to be a businesswoman like this. So this is a great start for me in the college campus, getting the popularity, making things. I also get how people want to take this, how people see these things. So that is like a mock test for being an entrepreneur.”

Oh. Trinklets, a resin jewellery venture by Shreya Chourasia, BCA, selling vintage pendants, rakhis, earrings, jhumkas, keychains and bookmarks, showcases her handmade creations. She shared, “I’m actually very thrilled to be a part of this campus flea because this is my first time I’ve set up a market, and I’m actually very happy with the response I’m getting here.”

MessyMind, a handmade venture by Suhani Dhar, BCA, selling clay keychains, fridge magnets and handmade organic soaps, offers handcrafted products as she shared, “My experience at Campus Flea is very wonderful; I’m getting a lot of customers, and the crowd is so amazing.”

Jonaki, a handmade jewellery venture by Prerna Khanra and Rhituparna Ghosh, CSE (AI), selling silver replica, brass, anti-tarnish and handmade embroidered jewellery, offers a range of handcrafted jewellery. They shared, “This Campus Flea is a great opportunity for small business owners. We really love it, and we believe it will be very helpful for us.”

Caprica, a resin art venture by Bidisha Saha, CSE in Cloud Computing, selling resin jewellery, clay items and keychains, showcases a variety of handmade products crafted with resin. She shared, “The experience is literally very much good. And I’m so happy that the university gives the students that kind of opportunity to showcase their own art pieces.”

Miyava, a fashion label by Tanisha Gupta, BBA (Hons.), selling Western clothes, showcases clothing designed to cater to diverse customer preferences and styles. She shared, “It’s a great opportunity. As a student entrepreneur, I can explore many kinds of customers, their needs and their tastes in clothes, and my best-selling got sold out within a second.” She also highlighted the popularity of her halter-neck fitted shirt and best coat, while expressing her appreciation for the opportunity to showcase her brand at the Techno India University Campus Flea.

Sadhana, a homegrown resin jewellery venture by Neha Paul, Fashion Designing, selling phone charms, resin jewellery, gothic jewellery, beaded jewellery and bracelets, showcases a range of handmade creations. She shared, “Techno India University helps us a lot. They give us confidence to talk with customers, how to deal with customers, how to run a business.” She also highlighted how the Campus Flea has helped her gain confidence in customer interaction and understand the practical aspects of running a business.

Aeuthana, by Anasua Sengupta, Biotechnology, selling clay charms, bracelets, crochet items and bead items, offers handmade products as she shared, “It was really nice and a very good experience for me. I am really happy with the outcome today.” She also highlighted that all the products showcased at the Campus Flea are handmade and not resold, expressing her happiness with the positive response to her venture.

Swati Creation, by Shreya and Angel, offers a range of clutchers, lipsticks, paper soaps, bouquets, earrings and handmade crochet items, combining everyday essentials with stylish accessories and creative handmade products.

The diverse participation at Campus Flea 5.0 reflected its larger purpose of giving students a platform to experiment with ideas, engage with customers and experience the realities of entrepreneurship. More than just a marketplace, the event encouraged creativity, confidence and experiential learning.

With food, music, entertainment and community interaction, the two-day flea created a vibrant campus atmosphere. By placing student entrepreneurs at the centre, Campus Flea 5.0 strengthened Techno India University’s culture of empowering students to create, experiment and turn their ideas into meaningful ventures.
