Kolkata | August 17, 2026: Techno India University, West Bengal is hosting Prof. Suborno Isaac Bari, widely recognised as the World’s Youngest Professor, for a two-day visitation programme from August 17–18, 2026. The programme, themed “Inspiring Minds, Igniting Futures,” brings together students, faculty members and members of the academic and innovation ecosystem for engaging interactions centred on education, innovation, leadership and the limitless potential of young minds.
The programme brought together Prof. Manoshi Roychowdhury, Co-Chancellor, Techno India University and Co-Chairperson, Techno India Group; Mr. Meghdut RoyChowdhury, Executive Director and Chief Innovation Officer, Techno India Group; Prof. (Dr.) Saikat Maitra, Vice Chancellor, Techno India University; Tapas Mukherjee, Director, Techno India Group; Dignitaries; Prof. Suborno Isaac Bari, the young academic prodigy and his father, Rashidul Bari as the guests of the programme.Â

The visit commenced with a fireside chat between Prof. Suborno Isaac Bari and Mr. Meghdut Roychowdhury, exploring Suborno’s remarkable academic journey, his approach to learning and education, the role of curiosity in shaping young minds, and the evolving landscape of innovation and technology. The conversation offered students valuable perspectives on challenging conventional thinking and creating new possibilities through knowledge and perseverance.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Manoshi Roychowdhury, Co-Chancellor, Techno India University and Co-Chairperson, Techno India Group, said, “Education becomes truly transformative when it encourages young minds to question, explore and imagine possibilities beyond what they believe is possible.” She further highlighted that Prof. Suborno’s journey demonstrates that age need not define ambition or achievement, adding that his interaction with students created a powerful opportunity to understand the importance of curiosity, courage and continuous learning.
Mr. Meghdut Roychowdhury, Executive Director and Chief Innovation Officer, Techno India Group, said, “At Techno India University, we believe that the most transformative ideas emerge when curiosity meets opportunity.” He noted that Prof. Suborno offered fascinating insights into how an extraordinary approach to learning can challenge conventional notions of age, education and achievement. He further emphasised the importance of encouraging young minds to question, experiment and pursue ideas fearlessly.





During the interaction, Prof. Suborno Isaac Bari shared thoughtful perspectives on democracy, technology, learning and personal growth. Speaking about the importance of a free exchange of ideas, he said, “India is such a beautiful democracy. We are able to exchange these ideas freely, even if some people may not like them. And that’s the most important thing to preserve about this.” …“I think it’s always good to use AI to point out problems, but never to fix or make direct alterations for you. Because at that point it stops feeling like yours.”… “take a look at where you are right now and ask yourself if you’re satisfied, and if you’re not, what can you actually realistically do to change it?” … “Why is it that way is an expression of courage and an expression that you really want to understand something, and that’s the most important thing of all.” …“I hope that one day, I will be able to really contribute something. I will really be able to give back to the world.”
Prof. Suborno Isaac Bari, born on April 9, 2012, in New York, is the youngest student in the nearly 200-year history of New York University, where he studies on a full scholarship. He is pursuing Bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Physics, with plans to begin a PhD in Physics in 2027. A recipient of the Global Child Prodigy Award in 2019, he has delivered lectures at several universities and IITs across India. He is also the youngest qualifier in AIME history and the youngest student to achieve a perfect score in AP Calculus BC. His achievements include the Atal Bharat Gaurav Samman, Mirchi Excellence Award, Shrestha Bangali Samman and Shikhya Bivushan Award.
Following the interactive session, When a student asked about the role of failure in learning and innovation, he said,“Failure is a part of learning, and I think everyone should react to failure with happiness because that means they’re about to learn something.”
Elaborating on his abilities in comparison with experienced scientists, he said,“Even though I’m 14, I would say I may be at the level of a 20- or 25-year-old, but that would not make me better than some of the even experienced professors in this room.”


When a faculty member asked whether he misses his childhood while pursuing mathematics and physics at such a young age, Suborno said, “Honestly, I think my childhood is going better right now than it would be if I took the normal route. And that is because I am able to meet so many great people.”
When asked whether he prefers mathematics or physics, he said, “Probably physics nowadays because math is seeing some difficult times with the introduction of AI. But there are many different positions in physics, especially experimental, that cannot be replaced in the near future.”
Speaking about the challenge AI poses to education, he warned,“Education specifically will face a very difficult problem because one of the main applications of AI is to do work that is good enough for school but not good enough for the real world.”
The two-day visitation programme at Techno India University brought students and Prof. Suborno together through academic conversations, a fireside discussion and informal interactions. The programme encouraged students to approach learning with curiosity, openness and confidence.
Cycling and badminton added a recreational dimension, fostering camaraderie between Prof. Suborno and the university community. The visit reinforced Techno India University’s vision of “Inspiring Minds, Igniting Futures,” inspiring students to explore new possibilities and shape the future with purpose.
