CHAKRAVYUH’26: A Celebration of Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Strategic Thinking at TIU

CHAKRAVYUH’26, the flagship E-Fest of Futurepreneurs, the Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell) of the Department of Management at Techno India University, brought together students, aspiring entrepreneurs, startup enthusiasts, and industry experts for two days of innovation, competition, and collaboration. The event also celebrated Futurepreneurs’ achievement of securing the 33rd rank among over 4,000 E-Cells in IIT Bombay’s National Entrepreneurship Challenge (NEC), making it the only institution from West Bengal to earn this recognition.

Inspired by the legendary Chakravyuh from the Mahabharata, CHAKRAVYUH’26 symbolized the challenges and opportunities encountered in the entrepreneurial journey. Through a diverse range of competitions, workshops, discussions, and networking sessions, the fest encouraged participants to think strategically, solve problems creatively, and develop leadership skills.

The event commenced with an inauguration ceremony attended by distinguished dignitaries and academic leaders, including Prof. (Dr.) Sujoy Biswas, Registrar of Techno India University, and CEO & Director of Techno India Group, Dr. Atanu Kumar Raha, Emeritus Professor, Director and Advisor to the Hon’ble Chancellor, Dr. Bhaswati Mitra, Controller of Examinations, Dr. Anup Kumar Ghosh, Head of the Department of Management (BBA Hons.), Dr. Madhubala Roy, Faculty Advisor of Futurepreneurs E-Cell, Prof. Abhinandan Bose; and Prof. Shirupa Kumari.

Day 1: Innovation, Competition, and Entrepreneurial Thinking

The first day of CHAKRAVYUH’26 witnessed an exciting lineup of competitions and learning experiences that tested participants’ strategic thinking, creativity, and business acumen.

One of the key attractions was Yajnavedika, a Drone Technology Workshop conducted by Ms. Nivedita Chatterjee, Founder, Director and CEO of Vigilantia Praesidium, along with Mr. Siddharth Sarkar. The session introduced students to the rapidly evolving field of drone technology and its practical applications across industries, offering valuable insights into emerging technological innovations.

Another major highlight was Chanakya, the startup pitch competition that provided aspiring entrepreneurs with a platform to present innovative business ideas and scalable business models. The preliminary round was judged by Mr. Sushanto Sengupta, owner of the renowned restaurant chain 6 Ballygunge Place, who evaluated participants on the viability, creativity, and potential impact of their ventures.

Participants also showcased their diplomatic and strategic skills in Dharmashetra, a Mahabharata-themed Model United Nations that challenged them to navigate complex situations inspired by the epic while demonstrating critical thinking and leadership. The event was judged by Dr. Maumita Sengupta.

Adding a competitive business dimension to the fest was Arghavan, an IPL Auction simulation conducted by Mr. Sanket Sarkar. Participants engaged in strategic bidding, team-building, and budget management exercises, mirroring the dynamics of professional sports auctions.

Meanwhile, Navyug, a startup-based case study competition judged by Dr. Debabrata Bhattacharjee, encouraged students to analyze real-world business challenges and propose innovative, practical solutions, further strengthening their problem-solving and entrepreneurial capabilities.

Day 2: Networking, Leadership, and Industry Insights

The second day of the fest focused on entrepreneurship, communication, corporate strategy, and industry engagement.

A major attraction was Visionaries Uncut, a networking and panel discussion session featuring startup mentor and entrepreneur Mr. Rahul Bagchi, industry expert, Mr. Tapobrata Banerjee, and corporate professional and entrepreneur, Mr. Tanoy De. The discussion explored entrepreneurship, innovation, artificial intelligence, and career development, providing students with valuable perspectives from experienced professionals.

The day also featured Yukti, a debate competition judged by Mr. Ankit Jha, where participants demonstrated their communication, critical-thinking, and argumentation skills while engaging in thought-provoking discussions.

Adding a unique and engaging element to the fest was Quidditch, a Harry Potter-themed quiz competition judged by Mr. Arunava Chaudhuri. The event tested participants’ knowledge, teamwork, and quick-thinking abilities, creating an energetic and enjoyable atmosphere.

Corporate problem-solving and strategic decision-making took center stage during Sahyadri, an HR and corporate strategy competition evaluated by Mr. Mayank Bhartia, founding partner of Mikata Consulting and Head of Business Strategy at Arvin Exports Pvt. Ltd.

Another standout event was Navakriti, a PR and crisis management competition that challenged participants to devise effective communication and reputation management strategies in high-pressure situations. The competition was judged by Ms. Sanjukta Mallick Chakraborty and Ms. Nivedita Chatterjee.

The final round of Chanakya was also conducted on Day Two, where shortlisted teams pitched their startup ideas before a distinguished jury comprising Mr. Rahul Bagchi, Mr. Tapobrata Banerjee, and Prof. Tonoy Dey.

Celebrating Excellence

The festival concluded with a grand Prize Distribution Ceremony graced by Dr. Rina Paladhi, Director of Academics, Techno India University, , along with faculty members and distinguished guests. Congratulating the participants, Dr. Paladhi appreciated their enthusiasm, dedication, and competitive spirit while acknowledging the efforts of Futurepreneurs E-Cell in organizing a large-scale entrepreneurship festival that provided valuable opportunities for learning, networking, and professional growth.

Winners across various competitions were felicitated with trophies, certificates, and tokens of appreciation. The ceremony concluded with heartfelt gratitude towards the judges, speakers, sponsors, faculty coordinators, volunteers, and participants whose contributions ensured the success of CHAKRAVYUH’26.

More than just a festival, CHAKRAVYUH’26 emerged as a platform where innovation met opportunity, ideas transformed into possibilities, and students gained firsthand exposure to the world of entrepreneurship and business leadership. While the event may have concluded, the experiences, insights, and connections forged over the two days will continue to inspire future innovators and changemakers, carrying forward the entrepreneurial spirit that defines Futurepreneurs and Techno India University.
