Sportlight Secures Top Honors at IBM–AWS Hackathon 2026

B.Tech Students from Techno India University delivered an outstanding performance at the IBM–AWS Hackathon 2026, clinching the winning position with their innovative cloud-based solution, Sportlight. Organized by Hackveda and hosted at IILM University, Delhi, the national-level hackathon brought together top student innovators to build scalable, real-world solutions using cloud technologies—and Team Sportlight emerged as the clear standout.

Sportlight is a cloud-powered sports recruitment platform designed to streamline a process that has long remained fragmented and inefficient. The platform enables athletes to create structured digital profiles highlighting their skills, achievements, and performance data, while recruiters can discover talent using precise, data-driven filters such as sport, location, and performance metrics. By bringing athletes and recruiters onto a single digital ecosystem, Sportlight introduces much-needed speed, transparency, and structure into sports recruitment.

Built within the IBM–AWS cloud ecosystem, the platform is engineered for seamless scalability, reliability, and real-time data handling. More than a conceptual prototype, Sportlight demonstrates a deployment-ready approach, showcasing how cloud infrastructure can be meaningfully applied to sectors like sports that often remain underserved by digital transformation.

The project was led by Atrayee Nag, with Mohit Kumar Sheel, Mudit Tarway, and Swapnil Kobi, all from Techno India University. Under the mentorship of Sir Rishi Jha, the team refined both the technical architecture and user experience, translating a strong idea into a robust, well-executed solution within the fast-paced hackathon environment.

Winning the IBM–AWS Hackathon 2026 stands as a testament to the team’s technical expertise, clarity of vision, and focus on real-world impact. The achievement marks a proud moment for Techno India University, reinforcing its commitment to hands-on, industry-aligned learning that empowers students to build scalable, impactful, and future-ready solutions.
