Techno India Group Public School Garia (TIGPS, Garia) celebrated Rath Yatra with high devotion and energy, honouring the traditional and cultural significance of this grand festival. Rath Yatra, also known as the Car Festival, is celebrated worldwide and marks the journey of the three deities from the Puri Shrimandir Temple to their maternal aunt’s home.

Originating from Puri, Odisha, Rath Yatra signifies the travel of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra in beautifully crafted wooden chariots. The chariots are constructed starting from Akshay Tritiya and are clad in vibrant colors—Lord Balabhadra’s Taladhwaja in green and red, Goddess Subhadra’s Darpadalana in black and red, and Lord Jagannath’s Nandighosh in yellow and red.

The festival, which symbolizes equality and integration, allows devotees from all walks of life to witness the deities as they make their journey to Gundicha Temple. The celebration at TIGPS Garia brought this rich tradition to life for the students, especially those in the foundational stage.

Highlights of the Celebration:

-Flower Offerings: Little students from Balvatika made colorful paper flowers and offered them to Lord Jagannath, expressing their devotion and creativity.

-Craft Activities: The young students crafted “nakuldana” from old newspapers as an offering to their beloved God, demonstrating their engagement and enthusiasm.

-Prayer and Devotion: The children offered heartfelt prayers with joined little hands, embodying the spirit of the festival.

The event was an educational and spiritual experience for the students, helping them understand and appreciate the cultural heritage of India. The celebration also highlighted the importance of community, devotion, and tradition.

Rath Yatra is a significant Hindu festival that attracts millions of pilgrims to Puri each year. It is the only day when devotees who are not allowed into the temple can see the deities. The festival’s grand procession and the chariot pulling are symbols of unity and devotion, reflecting the journey of mortal souls and the divine.

Techno India Group Public School takes pride in celebrating such festivals, instilling values and cultural awareness in its students. The school believes in holistic education that encompasses academic excellence, cultural understanding, and moral development.
