TIGPS Konnagar’s Diya Roy Clinches Gold, Set for Asia Karate Federation Championship in Sri Lanka

Diya Roy, a talented Class 10 student from Techno India Group Public School (TIGPS), Konnagar, has brought immense pride to her school and state by securing a gold medal at the prestigious 4th KIO National Cadet-Junior and Sub-Junior Karate Championships 2025. The championship, held from June 12th to 15th in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, saw Diya emerge victorious in the Kata Team Female Junior category.

This outstanding achievement has earned Diya a coveted spot on the National Karate Team, and she has been officially selected to represent India at the upcoming South Asian Karate Championship. This highly anticipated event, organized by the Asia Karate Federation (AKF), is scheduled to take place in Colombo, Sri Lanka, from July 3rd to July 7th.

According to a certificate issued by the Karate-Do Association of Bengal, Diya’s selection is a direct result of her exceptional performance and her status as a National Champion in the recent National Karate Championship.
