Pulmonary Rehabilitation Workshop by Dr. Samana Sayed Enriches Physiotherapy Students

On January 19, 2025, the students of the 1st Semester Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) and Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) at Techno India University had an exciting learning opportunity at a Pulmonary Rehabilitation Workshop organized by the university and Enriching day that combined both academic learning and physical fitness.

The day began with a Pulmonary Rehabilitation Workshop organized by the university, featuring Dr. Samana Sayed, a renowned Senior Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapist. Dr. Sayed is also a Global Educator in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS), a Metabolic Disorders Specialist, and a Professor at the National Medical Sciences University, USA and Spain.

During the workshop, Dr. Sayed shared her extensive knowledge and experience in pulmonary rehabilitation—a critical area in physiotherapy that focuses on helping patients with respiratory conditions improve lung function and overall breathing capacity. The students learned about advanced rehabilitation techniques and how to apply these in real-world scenarios. The session was interactive and hands-on, allowing students to practice various methods under the guidance of Dr. Sayed. This exposure to global best practices helped the students deepen their understanding of pulmonary care and develop their clinical expertise.

Following the workshop, the students enthusiastically participated in a Marathon organized by The BRC Club. The marathon served as an excellent opportunity to promote fitness, endurance, and overall well-being—qualities that are essential for physiotherapists. Participating in the marathon not only allowed the students to put their physical fitness to the test but also demonstrated their dedication to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, which is vital for their future professional roles.

The event also provided students with real-world exposure, reinforcing the importance of physical endurance in the field of physiotherapy. It highlighted the close connection between personal fitness and the ability to effectively guide patients through rehabilitation programs.

The students’ active participation in both the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Workshop and the Marathon on the same day showcased their dedication, enthusiasm, and commitment to their personal and professional growth.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Samana Sayed for sharing her invaluable knowledge and expertise. Her guidance made the workshop a truly memorable and educational experience for the students. Kudos to the future physiotherapists of Techno India University for embracing both learning and fitness with such enthusiasm and energy!
