Today, November 28, 2024, Ramgarh Engineering College (REC), established by the Government of Jharkhand and managed by Techno India Group, organized a Quiz and Orientation Program in collaboration with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), a leading national government organization.
The event began with an address by Mr. Manish Gupta, BIS Officer from Jamshedpur, who highlighted the vital role of BIS in ensuring quality and safety through standardization. Dr. Nazmul Islam, Vice Principal of REC and mentor of the Standard Club, emphasized the importance of understanding standards in daily life. “To maintain quality in everyday activities, awareness of standards is essential. Events like quiz competitions play a key role in achieving this,” he said.
150 Students enthusiastically participated in the activity, and 30 teams of four competed in the quiz. Six of these teams achieved the highest rankings, taking home first, second, third, and fourth place awards. Mr. Manish Gupta awarded trophies to the victors, making the occasion instructive and satisfying for those who took part.
This initiative aligns with REC’s commitment to enhancing students’ practical knowledge. Yesterday, November 27, 2024, the college organized an industrial visit to the Ultratech Cement Plant, Patratu, for 120 students. The visit provided valuable exposure to industrial processes and the implementation of standards.
Key faculty members present at the event included Dr. Nazmul Islam, Dr. Ashish Narayan, Mr. Pallab Das, Mr. Kamal Ahmed, Mr. Sambit Das, Dr. Bagesh Bihari, Mr. Ashim Kumar Mahto, and Ms. Komal Kumari, who ensured the program’s success.
The day’s events showcased REC’s dedication to fostering practical learning and raising awareness about quality standards among its students.
