Happiness Fair 2026 Brings Astitva to Life at Techno India

Kolkata, Techno Campus: The spirit of inclusivity, expression, and emotional well-being took center stage as Monoshij hosted the 5th edition of Happiness Fair 2026 at Techno. आयोजित on the occasion of the International Day of Happiness, the event reaffirmed Techno’s commitment to fostering not only academic excellence but also a culture of empathy and belonging.

This year’s theme, “Astitva – Beyond Labels, Beyond Limits,” set the tone for a day that moved beyond celebration into meaningful engagement. With a strong emphasis on identity and the impact of social media on mental well-being, the fair brought together students from Techno Main Salt Lake (TMSL) and Techno India University (TIU), along with faculty members, industry representatives, artists, and mental health advocates.

As reflected in the words and vision shared by  Prof. Manoshi RoyChowdhury, the initiative aimed to create “a space where every individual feels heard, valued, and empowered”—a sentiment that resonated across every segment of the event.

Dialogue, Reflection, and Real Conversations

A major highlight of the fair was the panel discussion titled “Unfolding Identity: Conversations on Belonging & Happiness.” Featuring distinguished guests such as Dr. Smaranika Tripathi and Mr. Sudarshan Chakraborty, the session encouraged open dialogue on identity, acceptance, and the evolving definition of happiness in a digitally influenced world.

The discussion created a platform for participants to reflect on personal and collective experiences, reinforcing the importance of safe spaces within educational institutions.

Participation that Turned into Celebration

The Happiness Walk, which witnessed participation from over 200 individuals, stood out as a vibrant display of unity. Despite unexpected rain, students continued the walk with umbrellas, transforming the moment into a celebration of togetherness—symbolizing resilience and shared joy.

A Platform for Expression and Awareness

The fair featured a diverse range of activities, including skits, debates on “happiness in the age of algorithms,” and cultural performances that blended creativity with awareness. The Astitva Art Gallery showcased thought-provoking works, allowing students to express personal narratives around identity and emotion.

One of the most impactful segments of the event was the LGBTQ+ Ramp Walk, which highlighted themes of acceptance, pride, and visibility. The segment served as a powerful reminder of the importance of inclusivity within campus spaces.

Carrying the Message Forward

Now in its fifth year, the Happiness Fair continues to evolve as a significant initiative within the Techno community. More than an annual event, it stands as a platform that encourages dialogue, nurtures empathy, and promotes mental well-being among students.

Aligned with the vision articulated by Manoshi RoyChowdhuryAstitva emerges not just as a theme but as an ongoing commitment—one that seeks to build an environment where individuals can move beyond labels and truly belong.

“চারিদিকে দেখো চাহি হৃদয় প্রসারি…”
In expanding our hearts beyond boundaries, Techno once again demonstrated that happiness is most meaningful when it is shared.
