The Student Activity Centre of Ramgarh Engineering College, a part of Techno India Group, took a giant leap towards nurturing creativity and innovation among school students by successfully organizing the first-ever State-Level Idea Pitching Competition – “Pitch Perfect 1.0” under the banner of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC). The event served as a vibrant platform for young minds to transform their ideas into actionable solutions, fostering a spirit of entrepreneurship and problem-solving aligned with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and the National Innovation and Startup Policy (NISP).
Held in hybrid mode, the competition brought together 33 enthusiastic participants from various schools across Jharkhand. Students presented their innovative ideas spanning multiple domains, including technology, environment, healthcare, education, and social innovation. This was more than a contest – it was an interactive arena where creativity met feasibility, and imagination took its first steps toward reality.
The event was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Sharbani Roy, who, in her address, emphasized the role of innovation in shaping the future. “Innovation is the cornerstone of development. Platforms like Pitch Perfect help students translate their ideas into tangible solutions for real-world problems,” she said, inspiring the young audience.

Vice Principal Dr. Nazmul Islam echoed her sentiments, remarking on the boldness and depth of the ideas presented. “It was inspiring to witness such thoughtful and impactful ideas from young minds. Platforms like this bridge the gap between academia and real-world solutions,” he said.
Ideas that Stood Out
From saving the environment to protecting wildlife, the competition saw remarkable presentations, including:
- Problems faced by birds – by Srijita Hazra, Class IX, DAV Model School, CFRI, Dhanbad.
- Reusing plastic to build a cleaner future – by Priyanka Kumari, Class VIII, Saraswati Vidya Niketan, Dhanbad.
Each idea was evaluated on originality, feasibility, scalability, social impact, and presentation skills by a distinguished panel of judges, which included Bagesh Bihari, Nilesh Kumar, Chandan Raj, Asim Kumar Mahato, Rupam Kumar Pal, Abhinaba Biswas, Kamal Ahmed, Amit Kumar, Chotelal Mahto, Ayani Nandi, Akash Kumar, and Vishal Shaw – representing academia, entrepreneurship, and industry expertise.
The competition was as much about learning as it was about winning. Academic In-Charge Dr. Ashish Narayan explained: “Through Pitch Perfect 1.0, we aimed to provide a launchpad for student innovators. We’re proud to see the energy, originality, and problem-solving approach in each presentation.”
Program Coordinator Pallab Das added: “It’s heartening to see students think beyond textbooks and attempt to solve real-life problems. Several ideas today have the potential to be future startups.”
The event concluded with Mr. Arunabha Datta, IIC Coordinator, motivating participants: “Events like Pitch Perfect are essential to instill confidence in students and encourage them to think out-of-the-box. We aim to support promising ideas further through incubation and mentorship.”
A Student’s Perspective
Adding a youthful voice to the occasion, G-SAC member and 3rd-year CSE student Mukesh Kumar Bauri shared his experience: “Being a part of Pitch Perfect 1.0 was a rewarding experience. Organizing the event helped us understand leadership, coordination, and the importance of innovation in education.”
The event reinforced Ramgarh Engineering College’s commitment to promoting innovative thinking and practical problem-solving among the next generation. With a proactive Institution’s Innovation Council and dedicated faculty, the college continues to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry demands, ensuring that both its students and the wider community are prepared for the challenges of tomorrow.
