Ramgarh Engineering College Hosts Grand Annual Sports Meet 2025

The Ramgarh Engineering College (REC), Murubanda — a distinguished initiative of the Government of Jharkhand under the aegis of Techno India Group — hosted its grand Annual Sports Meet 2025 from May 29 to May 31. Over three days, the college campus pulsed with energy, camaraderie, and the sound of cheers as students from all academic years took part in a series of spirited competitions. The event commenced with a formal inauguration and ceremonial lamp lighting in the presence of esteemed dignitaries from both Techno India Group and the college administration. Their shared vision underlined the importance of integrating sports into academic life to foster resilience, discipline, and holistic growth among students.

A wide array of sports were conducted, bringing together more than 150 participating athletes and over 200 enthusiastic spectators. Cricket, one of the most anticipated events, saw powerful performances in both boys’ and girls’ categories. The 4th Year boys’ team clinched the championship, while the faculty team secured the runner-up spot. In the girls’ category, the 3rd Year team emerged victorious, followed by the 4th Year team. Volleyball delivered intense showdowns, with the 3rd Year teams in both boys’ and girls’ categories capturing the titles, and the 4th Year teams giving close competition as runners-up.

The football matches were equally exciting. Among boys, the 4th Year team displayed commendable coordination to secure first place, while the 2nd Year team finished second. For the girls, the 3rd Year team demonstrated strong teamwork and strategy to emerge as winners, again with the 4th Year team finishing just behind. Badminton was conducted across multiple formats: singles and doubles for both boys and girls, along with a mixed doubles category. Students from all years and even faculty members competed, displaying technical finesse, speed, and sharp reflexes. Notably, the badminton segment concluded with a special recognition for the best player of the tournament, whose all-round performance stood out across categories.

Table Tennis witnessed similar levels of enthusiasm and expertise, with singles, doubles, and mixed doubles held for both genders. Fast rallies and smart shot placements kept the spectators on edge. A player who consistently performed across events was rightfully acknowledged as the best player of the tournament in the table tennis category. The arm wrestling event, split into boys’ under-60 kg and above-60 kg weight categories and a girls’ open category, turned out to be a crowd favorite. Students showcased incredible strength and determination, with 2nd Year participants dominating the podium across most of the sub-categories.

Shot put contests for both boys and girls highlighted the athletes’ power and precision. From explosive throws to calculated technique, students from 1st, 2nd, and 4th Years demonstrated competitive spirit and secured top positions. The chess tournament tested intellectual sharpness and strategy, culminating in a 1st Year student taking the winning position while a faculty member followed as the runner-up, marking the event as a bridge between mentorship and mutual respect.

The sports meet culminated in a thrilling exhibition cricket match between the Faculty Team and the Media Team. The Media Team set a target of 59 runs in 10 overs, which the Faculty Team successfully chased in just five overs, delivering an exciting finish to the event and showcasing the vibrant synergy between students and staff.

Overall, the Annual Sports Meet 2025 was more than just a series of competitions—it was a celebration of unity, resilience, and the boundless energy of the REC student community. It highlighted the institution’s commitment to promoting a balanced education where academics and sports go hand in hand. With roaring applause, shared victories, and new memories etched on the field, the event concluded on a high note, leaving behind a legacy of teamwork and triumph.
