Techno Times is excited to announce the upcoming release of “Check In Cheque Out”, a captivating blend of comedy, drama, and suspense, hitting screens on April 18th. Directed by renowned National Award-winning filmmaker Satrajit Sen, produced by Meghdut RoyChowdhury, and co-produced by Techno India Group and Novotel Kolkata — Hotel and Residences, this film promises a fresh and engaging narrative set against the backdrop of Kolkata’s vibrant hospitality industry.

At the heart of “Check In Cheque Out” is Namrata, a driven young heiress facing a formidable challenge. To earn her place within the family’s renowned hotel chain, she must successfully manage their struggling Kolkata branch for a year. Initially, Namrata’s strategy is clear: sell the seemingly unprofitable establishment. However, her plans are quickly derailed by a series of unsettling encounters and unexpected disruptions within the hotel’s storied walls.
A significant aspect of “Check In Cheque Out” is the involvement of students from Techno India’s Film and Media department. These budding filmmakers dedicatedly worked across various departments, gaining invaluable hands-on experience in a professional film production. This unique opportunity allowed them to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world filmmaking, providing them with a significant advantage as they prepare to enter the industry. Having a feature film credit in their portfolio right before graduation is an exceptional achievement, demonstrating their talent and dedication to the craft.
“Stepping into film production has been an exhilarating journey, and I couldn’t have asked for a better project”, shared Meghdut RoyChowdhury, a serial entrepreneur and Executive Director at Techno India Group, making his debut as a producer with Check In Cheque Out. “What drew me to this film first was its deep connection to Kolkata—the story is rooted in the city’s essence, reflecting its hospitality, resilience, and ever-evolving charm. Collaborating with Satrajit, an old friend and fantastic filmmaker, made it even more special. What makes it even closer to my heart is the involvement of students from Techno India’s Film and Media department, whose creativity and passion added fresh energy to the production, bridging the gap between education and real-world filmmaking.”

“We are extremely excited to announce the release date of Check In Cheque Out”, said Satrajit Sen. “Our film is a unique blend of comedy, drama, and suspense. The story was conceived with the idea that Kolkata is a city in decline. However, the hospitality industry here is thriving. I began exploring the nuances of why, despite all odds, Kolkata remains the hospitality capital, and that’s how the story was born.”
Adding to the film’s allure is its stellar ensemble cast. Ishaa Saha delivers a compelling performance as Namrata, while the film marks the highly anticipated return of Ratul Shankar to the silver screen after a 25-year hiatus. Shankar, who debuted in the critically acclaimed “Utsab,” takes on a poignant role that promises to resonate with audiences.

The film also features a dynamic lineup of talented actors, including Chandreyee Ghosh, Aryann Bhowmik, Anuradha Mukherjee, Meghdut RoyChowdhury, Armit Mukherjee, Ayan Nandi, and Soumya Majumder, each bringing their unique energy to the project. Their collective performances contribute to the film’s vibrant and engaging atmosphere.
“Check In Cheque Out” is more than just a film; it’s a cinematic experience that explores themes of legacy, ambition, and the enduring charm of Kolkata. With its blend of genres and a talented cast, it promises to be a must-watch for audiences of all ages.
Make sure to catch “Check In Cheque Out” in theaters on April 18th and experience this unique cinematic journey for yourself!
