Kolkata, March 9, 2025: Students of Techno India Group Public School, Garia made a remarkable impact at the two-day grand event organized by Vivekananda Vijnan Mission (VVM) on March 8th and 9th, 2025, at IIT Kharagpur Research Park, Kolkata. The event was a tribute to the 130th birth anniversary of the legendary physicist and mathematician Satyendra Nath Bose and marked the centenary of Bose-Einstein Statistics, celebrating his ground breaking contributions to science.
The event brought together students, academicians, and eminent personalities from the world of science, creating an inspiring atmosphere that honoured Bose’s contributions while encouraging young minds to explore the wonders of scientific discovery.
A Grand Inauguration in the Presence of Eminent Guests
The celebrations began with a warm welcome and felicitation of esteemed dignitaries, followed by the National Anthem and the Shanti Mantra. The event was officially inaugurated with the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the spread of knowledge and wisdom.
The Chief Guest, Honourable Governor of West Bengal, Dr. C.V. Ananda Bose, delivered a thought-provoking speech, emphasizing the scientific brilliance of Satyendra Nath Bose and his contributions to modern physics and mathematics. The audience was then presented with a documentary film that highlighted the history and mission of Vijnana Bharati (West Bengal Chapter) and its efforts in promoting science and technology in regional languages.


TIGPS Garia’s Innovation Stands Out at the Science Fair
One of the most anticipated segments of the event was the Children’s Science Fair and Exhibition, where students from various schools presented their innovative projects. TIGPS Garia students – Anik Mondal (Class VIII B), Didhiti Sarkar (Class VIII C), and Aabir Mukherjee (Class IX B), showcased their project titled ECO LAMP, which received widespread appreciation.
The project demonstrated the students’ scientific ingenuity and creative problem-solving skills, earning praise from the jury and attendees. Their work reflected a strong understanding of environmental sustainability and the application of scientific principles to real-world problems.
Recognition for Excellence: TIGPS Garia District Winners Felicitated
Adding to the school’s achievements, five district winners from TIGPS Garia (VVM 2024) were felicitated for their outstanding performance in science-related activities. Principal Tania Sen received a memento on behalf of the school and the district winners, in recognition of their hard work and dedication.
Expressing her pride in the students’ achievements, Ms. Sen motivated them to continue striving for excellence in academics and competitions, emphasizing the importance of scientific research, innovation, and critical thinking in today’s world.


Day 2: Inspiring Lectures, Competitive Spirit, and Victorious Moments
The second day of the event was filled with insightful lectures, engaging competitions, and inspiring performances.
A special lecture was delivered by Dr. Partho Ghosh from the Satyendra Nath Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences (SNBNCBS), where he spoke about the life and legacy of Satyendra Nath Bose. He highlighted Bose’s pathbreaking contributions to quantum mechanics and his collaborations with Albert Einstein, inspiring students to pursue careers in science and research.
Following the lecture, an interactive quiz competition was held, conducted by renowned quizmaster Mr. Rajib Sanyal. Students from multiple schools participated, displaying their scientific knowledge and enthusiasm in a thrilling contest.
TIGPS Garia students also took part in various competitions and achieved outstanding results:
- Aabir Mukherjee (Class IX) secured the 1st position in the extempore competition, impressing the judges with his speech on “India’s Space Exploration: Chandrayaan and Beyond”. His eloquence and depth of knowledge earned him well-deserved recognition.
- Lucas Olive Mondal (Class IX) won the 2nd prize in the drawing and painting competition, where he creatively illustrated the theme “Swadeshi Science and India’s Freedom Struggle”. His artwork beautifully depicted the role of indigenous science in India’s journey to independence.
