As we get back to our daily lives after the joyous celebrations of Durga Pujo, Techno India University hosted an entertaining Bijoya Sammilani, bringing together all the administrative figures and professors of Techno India University. Professors participated in various cultural performances and the evening was spent discovering many hidden talents, reminiscing about childhood and embracing hope for a better tomorrow.
Prof. Manoshi Roy Chowdhury, Co-Chairperson of Techno India Group, lifted everybody’s spirits by delivering a heartwarming speech about her childhood and Durga Pujo. “This time of the year always takes me back to when I was young, embracing girlhood with my sisters. Our grandmother would make this delicious ‘gur-er naru’ for us; something I can’t quite find anywhere anymore. These are the moments that we live for… We celebrate Bijoya every year to come together and unite as a community, keep all of our futile arguments in the past – bring a smile to each and every face. This year, Bijoya for us is even more special because our very own Durga idol traveled all the way to London and took part in the Thames River Festival. I’m constantly made proud by the students and mentors at Techno India University for always being so eager to take initiative and make the most out of this beautiful celebration.”
Meghdut Roy Chowdhury, Chief Innovation Officer of Techno India Group, shared his experience sailing with Techno India’s Durga idol on river Thames. “It’s truly such a proud moment for all of us, not only as Techno Indians but as a Bangali – to be able to take our Durga Pujo to foreign lands and be lauded for it. It’s so heartwarming to see how more and more people from all around the world are becoming much more aware of the significance, artistry and innovation that Durga Pujo brings to us each and every year.”
The event began with a spellbinding chandipath recited by Prof. Indrajit Bandyopadhyay, department of ICA, which served as the perfect inaugural act for such a ceremony.
The evening went on with numerous extraordinary musical and dance performances by the professors of Techno India University, ending with an electrifying musical act by Prof. Dr. Sujoy Biswas, Director and CEO of Techno India Group.
As the Bijoya Sammilani drew to a close, it left a lasting impression on all who attended. The event was a testament to the vibrant culture and strong sense of community at Techno India University. By celebrating the traditions of Durga Puja and embracing the future with hope, the university continues to inspire and uplift its faculty and students.
