Ragging – A Culture ?

- Partha Pramanik, Visiting professor, Eng. Dept., TMSL

In the bright halls where wisdom show its flow,

The vile shadows are often seen to grow;

The threat of bullies, a chilling breeze

Stealing million dreams with a careless ease.

The young hearts arrive, eager and bright

Seeking wisdom and chasing the light;

Yet within those walls, they find nothing But a cruel tradition that is unrefined.

Tears masked under the phony smile

As spirits tremble, hopes remain in exile.

A plea for kindness, understanding deep Instead of scars that haunts their sleep.

Let unity reign and compassion bloom,

Replace the shadows with a brighter room;

College life is not scary but a time of joy

When life is meant to be made, not to destroy.

This is the time to stand against the tide,

Let’s erase the pain that can’t subside.

Together We will build a safer shore

Where “ragging culture” will be no more.
