Techno India group celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day with immense pride and patriotism, reflecting on the sacrifices that secured our freedom and the unity that continues to fortify our nation. The event, held on August 15, 2024, was a grand occasion, drawing together students, faculty, and staff in a spirited display of national pride.
The celebration began with the hoisting of the national flag by Prof. Manoshi Roy Chowdhury, Co-Chairperson of the Techno India Group. As the tricolour ascended, the campus resonated with the strains of the national anthem, a moment that filled everyone present with a deep sense of respect and gratitude for the freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the country’s independence.

Prof. Roy Chowdhury spoke passionately on the significance of Independence Day, emphasising the value of recognising past sacrifices while moving forward. She reminded the children that freedom is more than simply a right; it is a responsibility that every citizen must carry. “Our independence is the result of immense sacrifices, and it is our duty to honour those sacrifices by contributing to the progress and unity of our nation,” she said.

The celebration included a range of cultural programs organised by the students, with each act paying tribute to India’s rich cultural legacy. From patriotic songs to traditional dances, the performances vividly portrayed the country’s variety and solidarity. A spectacular play emphasising crucial milestones in India’s freedom struggle filled the audience with newfound enthusiasm for their country’s heritage.
As the ceremony came to a close, the campus was filled with patriotic joy. The event served as a time to reflect on the present and pledge to the future, as well as to recall the past. The unity and delight shown by everyone present showed the strength of the Indian spirit, which remains unbroken and strong.
