Kolkata, August 7, 2024 Techno India University was buzzing with excitement as it hosted the Achievers Dialogues Event, which was organised by the National Indian Students and Alumni Union (NISAU) in collaboration with the UK Council and supported by the UK government on 6th august. This renowned event brought together a broad collection of students, alumni, and prominent visitors to recognise academic and professional achievements.

The Achievers Dialogues Event seeks to provide a venue for students to interact with prominent people from a variety of fields, aiding inspiration and motivation. The relationship between NISAU and the UK Council emphasises the value of international cooperation in education and professional development.

Over 800 students gathered at Techno India University for today’s “Achievers Dialogues” event. The event featured inspiring talks and insightful discussions, fostering a spirit of innovation and excellence. It was a remarkable opportunity for networking and learning from distinguished speakers, leaving a lasting impact on all participants.

Sanam Arora, our first speaker – Chairperson and founder of NISAU-UK, led an Employability Masterclass. The session featured an exhibition, networking opportunities, and interactive discussions with students. Arora’s dynamic approach captivated the audience, sparking enthusiasm and curiosity among the students. They were keenly interested in listening and responding to her insights on employability and career development. The interactive nature of the masterclass fostered meaningful exchanges, allowing students to gain valuable knowledge and inspiration. Overall, the event was a resounding success, highlighting the importance of active engagement and learning in a vibrant academic environment.

Dr. Andrew Fleming, British Deputy High Commissioner, praised the developing UK-India cooperation, emphasising collaboration and shared values. He honoured the Indian community’s achievements in the UK and expressed hope for future diplomatic, cultural, and educational ties.

Debanjan Chakrabarti, Director of British Council India, praised the NISAU Achievers Dialogues event for its impactful discussions and the inspiring journeys shared by the panelists. He highlighted the significance of such dialogues in fostering educational and cultural connections between the UK and India, and expressed his optimism about the future collaborations and opportunities that these interactions create for students and professionals from both countries.

During the NISAU Achievers Dialogues event, renowned figures shared their adventures, successes, and experiences with students in two rounds of panel discussions, inspiring and guiding them to a bright future. The prominent panellists were Dr. Asima Mukhopadhyay, a distinguished gynaecological oncologist and UK alumnus, John Fairhurts, cinema critic and journalist ; Siddharth Iyer, Director Partnerships for India and South Asia, ETS; Anasuya Sengupta, Cannes-winning actress and production designer; Meghdut RoyChowdhury, Chief Innovation Officer Techno India Group; Shamayita Chakraborty, a film critic and journalist. The conversations were co-moderated by Debanjan Chakrabarti, Director, British Council and Sanam Arora Founder, NISAU, who emphasised perseverance, hard effort, and the variety of alternatives open to students.
