The second International Cleft Surgical Mission, a collaborative effort aimed at transforming lives through surgical interventions, kicked off today, June 26th, at Techno India Dama Hospital with a promising start. This significant initiative, supported by Techno India Group, Mission Smile, and Muthoot Pappachan Group, underscores a commitment to providing critical medical care to those in need.
The inauguration ceremony was a momentous occasion attended by distinguished personalities including Prof. Manoshi Roy Chowdhury, Co-Chairperson of Techno India Group; Mr. Jayanta Narayan Choudhary, Co-Chairman of Mission Smile and Ex DGP-Assam, DG-NSG; and Mr. Vinod Kola, Chief Business Officer of Muthoot Fincorp Ltd, among others. Their presence reaffirmed the collective dedication to addressing healthcare challenges and improving quality of life through specialized surgeries.
Throughout the day, a dedicated team of medical volunteers comprising Plastic Surgeons, Maxillofacial Surgeons, Anaesthetists, Paediatricians, Dentists, and nurses meticulously screened 81 patients. These individuals, hailing from various districts such as North and South 24 Parganas, Nadia, Bardhaman, East and West Medinipur, Murshidabad, Howrah, Hooghly, and Malda, were assessed for their eligibility for corrective surgeries.
The screening process, conducted with utmost care and expertise, aimed not only to evaluate each patient’s medical condition but also to provide personalized care plans tailored to their needs. The collaborative efforts between medical professionals from India and Singapore highlighted the global impact of such missions in advancing healthcare accessibility and treatment outcomes.

Following rigorous evaluation, 65 patients have been scheduled for life-changing surgeries over the next three days at Techno India Dama Hospital. These surgeries, ranging from cleft lip repairs to complex maxillofacial reconstructions, represent a beacon of hope for patients and their families, offering them a chance at a brighter and healthier future.
