Kolkata | August 1, 2026: Techno Main Salt Lake (TMSL), through its Department of Computer Applications, successfully hosted the INOUG Oracle APEX AI UTSAV 2026 – Kolkata Edition in association with the Indian Oracle Applications Users Group (INOAUG) and Oracle APEX. The landmark technology event brought together 168 participants from industry and academia for a day of innovation, knowledge exchange, professional networking and exploration of emerging technologies.
The programme was graced by distinguished Oracle leaders, technology experts and industry professionals, including Richard Dalvi, President of INOAUG, AVP at 4i Apps and Oracle ACE Director; Tausif Siddiqui, Senior Director – Cloud Engineering, Oracle; Chaitanya Koratamaddi and Roopesh Thokala from the Oracle APEX Product Team; Balamurgan Natarajan, Managing Director, ProwessIQ Information Systems Pvt. Ltd.; Sahaana Manavalan, Senior Product Manager; Karkuvelraja Thangamariappan, Elite Oracle APEX Architect; Kenvi Shah, Technical Specialist, Oracle APEX; Supratik Sengupta, Manager – Business Development; and Shanmukh Kornana, Principal Product Manager.

Marking the inaugural edition of the Oracle APEX AI UTSAV 2026 series in India, the Kolkata event brought together developers, technology professionals, students, faculty members and industry experts to explore the growing convergence of Oracle APEX, Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, AI Agents and modern enterprise application development.
The formal programme began with the Welcome Address by Richard Dalvi, where he welcomed all participants, industry professionals, academic representatives, Oracle delegates, speakers and guests to the Kolkata edition of Oracle APEX AI UTSAV 2026. Reflecting on the importance of community engagement, he said, “Joining the Oracle APEX community is not only an opportunity to learn but also a platform to share knowledge, connect with mentors and grow together. Knowledge becomes even more meaningful when it is shared.”

Tausif Siddiqui, delivered the keynote address, sharing insights into the evolving role of cloud computing and Artificial Intelligence in driving enterprise innovation and digital transformation. His session highlighted the growing importance of modern application development, cloud-enabled technologies and AI-powered solutions in shaping the future of businesses and technology ecosystems.
Chaitanya Koratamaddi and Roopesh Thokala conducted an in-depth session on APEXlang, AI Coding Agents and AI-assisted application development. The session demonstrated how emerging AI capabilities can support developers throughout the application-development lifecycle, enabling faster innovation, improved productivity and more efficient enterprise software development.



Balamurgan Natarajan, presented insights into Modern Enterprise UI development using Oracle APEX 26.1. His session explored the use of Template Components, Plugins and responsive design capabilities to create engaging, intuitive and user-friendly enterprise applications while enhancing the overall user experience.
Sahaana Manavalan, discussed the role of AI Agents in transforming enterprise applications from conversational systems into intelligent, action-oriented solutions. She explained, “Oracle APEX acts as an intelligent orchestrator between the browser and the Large Language Model, bringing together user context, system prompts, available tools and conversation history to enable seamless AI-driven interactions.”
Karkuvelraja Thangamariappan, presented key enhancements introduced in Oracle APEX 26.1, with a focus on improving workflow efficiency and developer experience. He stated, “Oracle APEX 26.1 introduces important workflow enhancements, including the ability to retain active workflow status during deployment from development to production, reducing the need for manual reactivation.” Emphasizing the importance of community participation in platform development, he added, “Many of the enhancements introduced in Oracle APEX 26.1 reflect ideas and feedback contributed by the developer community and subsequently incorporated by the Oracle APEX team.”
Shanmukh Kornana, presented AI Interactive Reports and demonstrated how Artificial Intelligence is making enterprise data exploration more intuitive and user-friendly. He explained, “With AI, data exploration is becoming more intuitive, efficient and accessible. Instead of navigating through multiple pages or manually applying report actions, users can simply ask questions in natural language and receive relevant results.”
Kenvi Shah, introduced participants to the capabilities of Oracle AI Database and its relevance to modern application development. She highlighted, “Advanced analytics, seamless machine-learning integration, automated data management and real-time data insights are among the key capabilities that make Oracle AI Database relevant to modern application development.”
Supratik Sengupta, showcased practical Oracle APEX-based solutions designed to improve enterprise visibility, streamline operations and support informed decision-making. Speaking about the Procurement History Tracker, he said, “The Procurement History Tracker provides a 360-degree view of the procurement lifecycle, including purchase orders, receipts and invoices, enabling greater visibility and informed decision-making.”

Through expert-led sessions, live demonstrations and interactive discussions, participants gained valuable insights into AI-assisted application development, intelligent enterprise workflows, AI-powered reporting, Oracle AI Database, modern application capabilities and real-world enterprise solutions. The event also created opportunities for students and faculty members to interact directly with technology leaders and gain exposure to emerging industry trends, professional pathways and evolving skill requirements.
The programme concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session and networking opportunities, enabling participants to engage with experts, exchange ideas and strengthen professional connections.
